Guys all u have to do is search this here in the forums.. the cause is known, there's no issues.

The phone actually charges to 100% then drops to 95% then charges back up, over and over all night... Nearly every morning I took my z10 off charge for the first two weeks it showed 95% but lately after knowing its charge cycles its 100% lately. It's not a battery problem its how the phone works

I didn't know this was the case - I must have missed thr discussion on CB. So after a few charge cycles it will know what's what and show 100% on the phone, did I get that right?

Yup that is how OS10 charges the phones. It is the same method of charging as my HP laptop. I believe it prevents overcharging the battery

Second day of me having my Q10.

I charged my battery from half way over night (I forgot to run it rather low then charge it for its first charge). I took it off charge just over 12 hours ago. 60% of that has been on wifi today. I have made many calls, BBMs, browsing, Blaq, Used NFC to transfer 53 songs from my Z10 to this Q10. The screen has been at full brightness, with an hour of music and I now have 20% left. My Q10 seems pretty good imo.

Modern batteries do charging differently. Holding charge at 100% puts a lot of strain on batteries, and this can cause them to decay faster. That's why with modern batteries as soon as the charge hits 100%, the phone stops charging and drops to 90%. Then it fluctuates between 90-100. This keeps stress off the battery, thus increasing the longevity of its life. So you actually don't want it at 100% all the time, because this will run down your battery fast.

So I got mine exchanged, and it was definitely the unit and/or battery. Discharging at less than 5%/hour now, and feeling much better

Yeah mine is improving as well. 16 hours of use and 36% left. Not bad at all!

Oh something that might account for some of my improvements is that I have a Jet black background image. So that might improve things abit as well. Apparently OLED screens are more efficient with dark/black colours.

Took my phone off the charger at 10 this morning and have been using it pretty frequently since, and I am only down to 70% and it is 8 pm here. This battery is a workhorse!

Cheers! That's a smart move on BlackBerry's part - battery's last longer and are replaceable. Wish all phones did this, having to replace a sealed battery is a pain!

So I got an email from my carrier saying my replacement is on it's way. Should be here on Tuesday.

What does my first charge have to be like? I wanna be on the safe side.

    Thanks

Doubt it was the battery but now that you have a new one, I'm sure that you'll notice some improvement as ur phone has been set up and you have some experience with new os10 system.

The battery is an issue for a medium to heavy user. This phenom is incontestable, well documented in something soon to approach 1000 threads herein including topics on the larger Q battery and many, many on how to conserve. If you are using for heavy business, for example, you will not get anywhere near a full day on a charge with default settings. You must turn down polling cycles on multiple email accounts, switch to button on/off screen, turn dien the brightness, etc., etc.

With a few tricks the heavy users can sometimes squeeze 8 hrs usage. And, no you won't get the time that you hit on the 9000,s or even going back to the 8900 where one could often get two days with medium usage.
