Is anyone's Q10 having this issue where the space key seems loose, like you can somewhat wobble it if you press its sides?

Mine is the same exact way doesn't really effect the performance of the key

It doesn't affect the performance but it does feel cheap and not very well built. For the price of the device, it should feel solid and well made like other keys. Or maybe I am expecting too much...

This issue is causing a lot of repeat threads. I know that for sure. Mines good.

Yea this is the third thread I think. But when I checked two carrier stores, both displays were the same. The key is supported only in the center so if it didn't wiggle it would be odd. It feels no less sturdy than my older bbs.

It's "hit & miss" for this one, methinks. Seems the initial production runs have some QC issues. My first Q10 had the same problem, which to me cheapened the feel immensely.

I returned it and bought another at full retail to keep my unlimited data, and this second one is fine. Solid feel w/ no looseness at all.

But the key has at least some play left to right?

Exchange it and get a new one. I got two the day T-Mobile began offering them, and one was fine (my mom's), but mine had a loose, squeaky spacebar. No way was I gonna let it "get better" and I sure as he11 wasn't gonna "get used to it." I

exchanged it, and they gave me a new one that feels great. You just paid a lot of money for your Q10, get one that's as good as it's supposed to be.

I turned mine back into Verizon and got one that is more solid and less squeaky. When I heard from the forums that it was happening, the squeaky device went back. I am happier now.

My first white Q10 had a bad space key as well. Went back to the store and tested keyboard before doing exchange. Works like a champ now.

Thanks for the input everyone. I should have looked further before starting this thread. Just a bit bummed that a device this expensive is having this inconsistent QC no matter how small the issue. Still loving the rest of the package as well as my Z10, though, a great phone. Made me a BlackBerry fan!

I never owned a legacy device. Both the Q and the Z are my first BlackBerry devices. Can anyone with both a legacy device like the 9900 and the Q compare the keys of both phones? The loose space key is bugging me and unfortunately I am in the middle of my travel and I am kinda anxious...

Be careful. Verizon is hesitant to return it for this issue if the space bar still works

Mine are the same. I'm imagining that people who are returning have unusually loose space bars. My 9900 has play left to right too.

Depends on how much it shifts. It really should shift much at all, and it definitely shouldn't stick to one side/get stuck tilted. Best thing to do if you're having doubts is to go in store and check out another unit.

The spacebars seem to be hit or miss with the q10s. My brother's q10 is totally fine, while mine had a spacebar that basically did a seesaw action. A little give is normal, but mine would go down on either side and stay down. Went to att to get it replaced, and 2 of the new devices they brought out had the same issue, and finally the 3rd one was perfect. It was a hassle but this phone is totally worth it! Couldn't be happier with my q10 with a perfect keyboard. Try to get yours replaced, I know I'm glad I did.
