    Hi

Some time ago there was a thread where someone pointed out the hideous situation where if you add a mobile number to a social media contact that you have to manually create a new separate contact if you want it synced with your email account - and IIRC BlackBerry said they were aware of the issue.

Does anyone know if there is any fix due here? I really don't want contacts sitting on my SIM card instead of backing up OTA like everything else.

This may be considered a workaround:

Make sure all your contacts are syncing to an email. When you edit the contact and add a number, the number will sync to the cloud. It will STILL create a local copy, but once the sync is done, you can go ahead and delete that.

Works for me. Not ideal though.

Nope - if you edit a Facebook contact and add a mobile, it won't sync - it's local only. You need to manually create a new contact and manually copy, which is really crap.
