Hello everyone. I researched about how to do it, I learnt that if I use an autoloader it will be an easy and safe process. But what I failed to do is that I couldn't find the necessary files. Also I don't quite know which os version to go. And lastly also do you recommend autoloader or this sachesi thing? I want to load an official release. Thank you in advance...

    edit: I found this:
    http://developer.blackberry.com/blac...toloaders.html

    Is it safe?

I'm downloading 10.2.1.1927. My current is 10.3.1.1779. Is there a blacklist thing? Am I good to go?

you are good to go from 10.3.1
However you will not be able to downgrade from BlackBerry Link. You will have to use an Autoloader.

There are ways to get a browser with Flash even on 10.3.1.

OP, do not use the autoloaders from the BlackBerry developer website. They are only partial OSes used for testing.

Thurask has a great autoloader archive:

Before using the most recent "complete" build of 10.2.1 (10.2.1.3502), try 10.3.1.2744 first. Perhaps whatever problems you were having could be fixed by a clean install. Since you will be wiping everything anyway, it's worth a shot. It's the only way you can downgrade.

Thanks everyone for replies. I want to upgrade because things were better with 10.2 and I kinda missed the look of it.

@conite thank you for the link, that was what i need.

You are welcome... I think most of us, barring a minority like you, no pun intended, would like to go down to 10.2.1

I just got my Q10 and think I might downgrade back to 10.2. I find the icons on home screen to be way too small.

    Hmm decisions decisions!

Here's what you're giving up for slightly larger icons:

Instant actions (triage) in the HUB (one touch delete, flag, or file), new camera features like panorama, ability to access quick settings from anywhere with 2 finger swipe, upgraded Android Runtime to version 4.3 with improved notifications and enhanced permission control, BlackBerry Voice Assistant, no limits to apps in folders, advanced interactions (like lift to wake, flip to mute, flip to save power), improved notification profiles (like HUB++), ability to hide pictures from camera roll, and battery saving mode.

That's what I did, but as 'conite' mentioned, there are trade-offs. I guess that's true both for software upgrades and downgrades also.

That's actually a really helpful list, thanks. I was going to Google what the differences would be but hadn't got round to it yet.

I do like the larger icons more but I knew there was going to be trade offs. I think in light of your post I probably won't downgrade but the music player in 10.2 is night and day much better.

Agreed. They have "cleverly" made the icon format on the Passport the same as the Q10. But the screen area of the Q10 is less than half that of the Passport. This feature is one of the most annoying things when using Q10.

For me, there's one good reason to go back to 10.2 - Calendar.

Well, I downgraded to 10.2.1.2228. So far so good. I had a little problem with 10.3.1.1779. When I enter a chat in bbm from hub and go back to open a chat in whatsapp in hub again it opens it slowly. In this one there is no such problem. I didn't use 10.3 specific features and I don't miss them either.

Please am using the same OS. Just got my Q10 and upgraded to 10.3.1.1779. All was fine and I was cool with my phone though it gets annoyingly hot but the worst was that oneday I decided to download an Antivirus and after restarting my phone, the new apps i downloaded gets wiped off my device as well as any new contact, photos, videos, musics, or settings will wipe off both deleted contacts will even come back. Its a very terrible experience and I need help asap pls.

And there are other reasons . . . However, the decision is unique to each user. I made the decision to downgrade after battling with the issues for a week.

No doubt, at some point when the wrinkles are ironed out and the calendar has returned to a usable format, I will revisit the decision.
