Editing my typing. When I make a mistake and have to delete letters or pinpoint a specific part of my writing. I love the bolds or blackberry Q10s because it's ease of typing out emails and other writing things. That little circle thing that you can drag or move just isn't that helpful. Any tip long time Q10 user can share that can make things a little easier?

No I have 2.2 just downloaded that last week. I heard alarm clock did not work on 10.3 so I am waiting for the most stable version without bugs.

That's good to know. Have they changed the way it works, or just made it more robust and predictable?

The magnifier has been reworked. Its easier to hold. Have a look yourself:

On top of that it IS more robust and predictable.

I need this in my life. Is there a good 10.3 that a fellow Q10 user has download without major bugs. I use my alarm everyday so not having that is a problem for me.

How does the "new" circle make it better?

My problem is the edge & corners... editing on this touch screen is the same anger inducing pita as typing on glass.

The just released OS 10.3.0.1052 is a good stable release and the alarm works unlike in the previous 10.3.x.xxxx releases.

One of the tricks that helped me was the "hold shift key down while you drag the circle to select text" trick. Once I learned that, it basically started to feel a lot more like the Bold...but that's just me.

Also, just installed the recent 10.3 leak on my Verizon Q10, and it's fantastic.

Can you give me the specifics like country code numbers and such so I can find it in the search?

It is not an official OS having been released by a carrier. So there are no codes for it. If you know what you're doing and are comfortable doing so, follow the instructions for how to install using Sachesi which are towards the bottom of the second post of the 10.3.0.1052 thread. Or use an auto-loader. But do so only at your own risk as Bla1ze mentions in the first post.

If you tap on the left or right side of the circle, it will move over one letter to the left or right. Same thing for moving up or down one line.

The only issue I find is when you want to move the cursor close to the edge of the screen, you can't tap on that edge of the circle because its out of the screen.

I'd recommend going for 10.3, it's a little bit easier to edit text. Also, the latest leak has been very stable for me, you'll like it and the alarm clock functions fully.

^This, just tap to the right of the circle to move it one letter at a time to the right, tap to the left of the circle to move it one letter at a time to the left. Tap top of the circle to move one line up, tap the bottom of the circle to move one line down. Dragging the circle around is just to get you close so you can tap to the location you need it to be.

Does not address the issue of getting it to the edge, or corner. (and exactly why a track pad is better)

I don't know, that's when I find dragging the circle to work - I just drag it that last bit and it's in the corner or on the edge. It'll never be as good as the trackpad was, but for me it's close enough for jazz.

Fortunately the Classic will combine the best of both worlds.

I get close to the edge, then tap the circle to what ever side you need to, to get it to the edge

Yeah I don't feel comfortable. In the official thread you have jerks trying to make those that want to wait or not feel comfortable like they are ruining the thread or something. I have 10.2.2 I will just stick with that. My phone does what I need it to do.
