Well, I'm late to the Q10 game, but got one a few days ago. I'm familiar with BB10, having had a Z10 for more than a year, but my wife recently decided that she wanted the Z10, so I was stuck using my Android and Windows phones (LG G2 and Lumia 1520). Anyway, I decided to try the Q10 in anticipation of getting the Passport (eventually).

What can I say? I now get why people like the physical keyboard. It not only makes composition of long emails/messages possible, it actually makes it a pleasure. This is my first smartphone with a physical keyboard, and I can see why people like theirs so much.

I don't even find the small screen to be particularly restrictive. With all my smartphones, after the initial experimentation period, I find that use them for calling/texting/email with some photography and minor Facebook use. That's about it. The Q10 screen is perfect for that and phone is a nice size and weight.

So far, I'm mostly pleased with it.

Hi guys, it would be my first BB10 with physical keyboard (as if there are a lot of options) .

I'm switching from Z10 to Q10. What could you advice for me to set it up or what neceassry apps needed for the Q? Thanks

Oh. I see. I just thought Q10 and the Z30 have that kind of feature. Thanks.

I had a black Q10 earlier this year, but I moved on to other things.

I couldn't stay away. And I didn't want to wait for the Passport or Classic. So here's what was waiting in the mail for me when I got home from work today.

I got the iPhone 5s when it came out last September or so. I was due for an upgrade. My mother was also due for an upgrade and she certainly doesn't need to be part of the smartphone world, but she liked her full qwerty keyboard she had on some crap phone before. As a previous BlackBerry user (Torch), I suggested the Q10 to her. I remember making a FB post about how bad I wanted the Q10, but needed my apps. Anyway, She has been very happy with it for around a year now.

Well, I would often play on her phone and be jealous at times. I decided to buy a new Q10 off of eBay ($150) about three weeks ago and have been using it since. I'm running 10.3 and sideloaded android apps. I'm 29, social media and all that is part of my life. Hate to say so but it is. All my friends can't believe I switched from an iPhone, they think BlackBerry is so out od date, but I'm loving it. I think the BlackBerry OS is so beautiful. I just wish developers would make apps native to BlackBerry. They would look so nice. Running android apps is OK, but on the Q10 especially the screen size presents problems (Snapchat and Yahoo fantasy football off the top of my head). I know I know... "If you want that stuff then maybe you shouldn't have a BlackBerry then!"

It's just annoying at times and with the Amazon appstore officially being part of 10.3 release it makes me wonder if there will be any native BlackBerry apps in the near future. My next upgrade isn't until May. My hope is to use the Q10 until then and then decide on the latest BlackBerry has to offer at Sprint or the newest iPhone. I'm hoping BlackBerry has some interesting tricks up their sleeves before then (the latest "Visa" concept sure would be cool).

    /lengthy lengthy post

Congrats on your Q10. I think these days it shouldn't be down to the app selection which phone you use. While there are some nice 3rd party clients like iGrann, Snap2Chat and Whine I'm also thrilled to see what the Amazon App Store brings us in terms of these popular apps.

Concerning the screen size, have you considered a Passport? Not to forget 10.3 brings quite some developments concerning the Android runtime and scaling od Android apps.

Thank you! I'm running 10.3 and there are still screen size issues, but maybe the official release will help clear some of that up. I also understand that the Appstore will help bring more apps to BlackBerry, but my thing is I hate the "design" of Android OS (apps included) and would love for all these apps to be BlackBerry native. But oh well. Take what you can get I guess.

I have absolutely zero interest in the Passport. I am not interested in the next phase of phablets whatsoever. To me, the new iPhone's are too big! That's why I'm hoping something else comes out by or close to May, but I know I can't get greedy haha. I'm not sure what the specs are for Classic, but as some have mentioned, the Classic looks too old school for me. If the specs and hardware are that much better than the Q10 I might consider it, but the actual look of the Q10 to me is way better.

My Q10 arrived last week via ebay. Still waiting on the Verizon SIM, so I am still using my iPhone 4S for calls.
For everything else wifi, I'm really enjoying the Q10. I have 10.3 installed, replaced the Verizon logo'd chin plate with a blank one, and am currently enjoying the radio, fortunate that the iPhone earbuds work as an antenna as well as BB's (curiously not included with the phone).

I had a BB Storm way back when, which I loved, but I was swept up in iPhone-mania. Though soon I was wailing and gnashing my teeth, ranting about all of the things the Apple phone couldn't do. Eventually I became numb, dazzled by all of the pretty apps, I guess.

I agree with Randall, I'm not wild about the Android apps. I wish more was available in native BB, such as uber, MARTA (our transit system's app here in Atlanta), and Tumblr.
Little things like that would give people more reason to switch to BB. So would a little marketing.

I'm really not wild about the enormity of the Passport (and the iPhone 6s, Samsungs, etc), and the Classic looks too cluttered. I think the Q10 gets everything right.

It is really good to be back.

I'm assuming you mean the date? He's running 10.3 leak. The new OS has a home screen with the date on the screen like that.

Also traded my Nokia Lumia 1020 for white Q10. I really really loved the camera and HERE navigation, but oh boy it was freezing and crashing even on new 8.1 Cyan. When it comes to Q10 it took me like an hour to get used to it. Now I also understand the meaning of physical keyboard, I love it and it's so superfast to type on it. I had problems setting up the email and syncing contacts from Gmail but I updated to 10.2 and not a single bug since then.

I owned a Q10 earlier but then moved to Z30 later. missed the keyboard and finally repurchased Q10. Keyboard magic on Q10 is just can't beatable even I played with passport for a while but didn't that qwerty feel. Feeling awesum after coming back on the small qwerty.
