I tried searching the forums for instructions. I came up lost...so many topics and folders. I want to wipe my phone and restore to factory defaults in hopes of fixing my proximity sensor and hangup problem. But if I do this, I can still update to latest OS after, right?

You can hook up to BlackBerry link and hit the reload os or something like that. For me wipe is only useful if you want to clear your phone to sell. If you update Os or reinstall current one the phone is wiped.

Or you could go to settings>security and privacy > security wipe.

Note that this deletes all the data on your phone and memory card as well. If you need the data in the card, you can remove the memory card before wiping it.

It does not wipe your SD card. If your planning on upgrading anyway wiping is a lot of time wasted. Just upgrade and all is new.

Thanks...will try tomorrow! Fingers crossed as I just had to have another conversation using the speaker phone...it's a little annoying!
