Question: How popular are BB10 Q10 phones in Canada? I am with Rogers and thinking of upgrading to a BB Q10, but worried that I may end up with an unpopular device. Pls advise by replying to this post or send an e-m....tnx..../rgc

I think it's selling well in Canada. Our bank is just starting a full upgrade to Q10s for salaried employees. I know 3 people that have them now outside our company also.

Where I work, people who are eligible for corporate upgrades are opting for the Q10 over the Z10. The company that I work at only allows BB devices and iOS devices (no Android devices). There are Android devices where I work but these are personal Android devices and corporately, the company that I work at doesn't support them officially (although you can use your Android device to connect to the wireless network and access the corporate e-mail without any issues).

Some people have obviously switched to the iPhone but those who like Blackberry and of course want a real physical keyboard have stuck with Blackberry and are getting the Q10. Some did get the Z10 because they were eligible for an upgrade before the Q10 was available and they didn't want to go with an iPhone for whatever reason.

I work for a consulting firm. Most of the tech staff have android or iphone's with the occasional z10. The sales side of the business is a mix of legacy BBOS and iphone's for the most part. I think in the company we have about 10 BB10 devices, 20 or so BBOS devices, and then 50 split between android/iphone.

I have a Q10 and enjoy flaunting it. Blackberry is the **** end of jokes quite regularly, but who cares.

I worked in a small amusement park in Ontario and saw a decent number of them as the summer went on. I think it's probably a good cross section of the province as we get a lot of locals, people from Southern Ontario and Northern Ontario.

I ride the busses in Ottawa a lot, and I'm seeing a whole lot of Z10s, and lots of classic BlackBerry devices, but I've only seen one Q10 out in the wild so far. The dude I saw with it seemed glued to the screen, however.

Where I work, though, has purchased Q10s for the various people who need company phones.

We are small company of 70 people, there are about 8 BlackBerry 10 devices. All purchased by their own pocket though. I am the only one that is small fish. All else are from CEO to managers. That make me feel I am some body.

I always would prsume that BlackBerry os10 and the Z/Q would be quite popular on home turf as we Canadians have always supported BlackBerry devices. My company just converted and I'm running a leak. So for me getting Rogers Wireless's visual voicemail now working normally without having to install the vvm app is a huge bonus!!!

I think you should walk into a meeting one day, plug the HDMI Into your Q10 and start doing a presentation. That will shut them up.

I never let people laugh at my BlackBerry. My typical reply is "you are stuck in 2011, this is a BB10 phone".

I have always been a bb user throughout the past 10 years. from an original bold to curve then to the slider then 9900. BUT this is a big but...i switched after that to android devices for phone and tablet. I use to literally RIP MY HAIR OUT at how inconsistent the accuracy is on a touch screen device. It would waste so much time to respond to emails back spacing to correct the spelling.

That alone is the reason why i switched back to a qwerty keyboard device. Until such time comes where's theres better Im gonna stick and support Blackberry.

Agreed!!! Just get it you won't be disappointed and the accuracy of using a n actual qwerty keyboard is bar none way better to the all touch screens of the apple and android phones. Even our BlackBerry z10 although touch screen compared is still morre accurate. I use to use a n android tablet and and an S4 and I use to rip my hair out at all the backspacing with touch typing errors.

Q10 is awesome man! I'm planning on buying more Q10s incase BlackBerry goes down so I can use it forever. And every upgrade I get from carrier sell every two yrs make 6 bills.


I will have the batteries charged and unplugged and plug them in every 3 months to charge them. Keep them healthy.

I too would say to try the phone and see if you like it. Love my Q10 and came from the Z10 before that, not switching away from BlackBerry again.
