I bought the Samsung 32GB Class 10 OTG MicroSD Card with USB Memory Card Reader for my Q10 but I am not sure how it works. It says it is plug and play but when I put it into my phone or the Playbook tablet I have nothing happened. Can someone tell me more about this item?
    Thanks

This is my question when I was a guest. If anyone can help me to be able to use the Memory Card Reader that would be very helpful. I would like to use it on both my Q10 phone and Playbook, especially my Playbook to help increase the memory.

Neither the Q10 or playbook are OTG capable. The only BB10 phones capable of OTG are Z30 and Passport

On the crackberry store it says that it is for the Q10. Instead of just saying that everything works with the phone, they really need to put what exactly does or does not work, so that we don't waste our time buying things to only get them home and find out they really don't work.

The microSD card is for the Q10. I'm not sure what about it makes it especially OTG-friendly, but a microSD card definitely works in the Q10.

From what I read I think that USB reader is OTG capable. MicroSD will work if it is placed in Q10's sd slot. If you place sd card in OTG USB reader and then plug it in outside USB slot it will not work since Q10 does not support OTG technology

    Q10

To clarify. Since the Q10 has a SD card slot you can use the 32G card directly. No need for the card reader. Of course you have to remove the back to access the card slot.

The card reader however is for a phone which is OTG capable. Neither the Q10 or Playbook are.

I notice in shop Blackberry the ads adjust depending on the phone you specify. For instance the same item come up as "for Passport" when I have Passport selected as the phone type. Obviously not always correct.

I can see where the reader would be convenient to swap from one phone to another without having to open them.
