can I change the sybols setting from pressing it twice to get the !�? signs instead of twice

You can memorise the lay out of the special characters then press [alt]+[key] or [sym]+[key] to get the desired charachter directly.
Long pressing a key makes it to capital letter and shows up more letters.

You can! Just maintain the [sym] key pressed!
The window remains open and you can either type with the letters or on the screen!

It is faster, too!
You also can change to the [alt] window by typing on [1/2]




I tried it on my Q10 and it helped a lot!
However I am comfortable with typing sym+key only once every time... It might be a matter of taste/habitude.

As long as we're on the symbol subject, I find it very frustrating that if I want to tell someone the temperature there isn't a degrees symbol! Is there a way to get it added? Is it hidden somewhere? So much conversation is about the weather, seems odd not to have this useful symbol.

Copied and pasted... from Google... costed a few seconds... but you're right! There isn't a degree symbol!!! o_x

This should be added... what's this sign "�" for?
The _ is redundant! It exists on the first page under the "U" and on the second page under "A" so why don't introduce the degree sign on the second page!?

Anischab, thanks for the effort, but unless there's a way to add it to my symbol "app" so I can quickly and easily add them to a text or document I'm not sure how to ever get those into a document.

What's a symbol or letter combination you don't use? Like ll (lowercase double L)? Add it to your custom dictionary. Replace ll space with the pound symbol. Add a space so that a word like llama doesn't look strange! Then you can use it in any text field or document. I use de space to insert the degree+F symbol combination.

I'll do it. I'd write "degreeC" and "degreeF" and add it to my dictionary!
