How do I increase the number of rings before it goes into voice mail? I rarely can get to the phone before it rolls over. I'd like it to ring more than 5 times at least.

That is a carrier setting, not something that is user changeable as far as I'm aware. Sorry.. I know that's not the answer you wanted to hear, but I don't think any other phones give you access to that either.. it all happens on the carrier side, because you're voicemail picks up even if your phone is off.

Who's your carrier? On many GSM carriers you can change this by dialing a specific code. I've set this on my T-Mobile account so that it rings for about 40 seconds before going to VM, but every carrier is a little different.

Call your carrier or go there personally, I did the same thing with T-Mobile Germany, mine is on 30seconds before VM.

Basically, if you know voice mail number (the one that people calling you gets forwarded to), you can dial this string:

    **61*1yyyYYYyyyy*11*xx#

yyyYYYyyyy = the 10 digits of your voice mail forwarding line.
xx = the amount of seconds it takes for the call to be transferred to voice mail. Anywhere from 1 second to 30, I believe.

When you "call" the number above, it will give you a confirmation if it was successful or not.

You can find the currently used voicemail number in the phone app -> settings -> call forwarding. They should all be the same, and that's the number you'd want to use in the code above.

Most people think this requires a phone call in, but they just walk you through doing it on your phone anyway most of the time.
