I also had the two swipe problem. It would happen every time I tried to unlock my Q10 no matter what I did. Did a reboot as suggested (30 second hold on power button) and the problem is no longer there. One swipe only! Hurray!

For me it works this way: if I start swiping slowly, screen wakes up to the lock screen and I am revealing the underneath screen with the move of my thumb. If I stop swiping before I get to the middle of the screen, it goes back to the lock screen when I move my thumb away. If I swipe further than to the middle of the screen, I am waking it up completely.

When doing it with the flick (rather than swipe) gesture, it always wakes up to the normal screen and not the lock screen.

I didn't know the trick with waking the device to the lock screen with number keys It is quite useful to me

I remembered reading this post but now that I have a Q10 I was seeing the same two swipes to get to the icons. I don't know if this is still an issue for some folks but I have discovered that if you swipe all the way from the bottom bezel to the top bezel it will fully wake the phone in one swipe.

The same is happening to my Z30 that I got yesterday. I have swipe it twice to wake Z30 up. Any idea what can be done to fix it. I did the factory restore settings and still have the issue.

The idea is to do one swipe from the bottom, outside of the screen, to the top (not the middle, the top)
