Ive had quite a few blackberry devices in my day, and I gotta say the Q10 is second only to my Bold 9930. I think the only thing keeping the Bold in 1st place is the trackpad and toolbar, because the Q10 has much more potential with the browsing, camera, keyboard(though the Bold keyboard is very nice), and not to mention the OS and user interface alone. I do miss the trackpad and toolbar, it was so useful. The Q10 speaker is very very nice too, though the Bold speaker wasnt bad. I cant remember another cell phone that I actually enjoyed listening to music on, but the Q10 speaker sounds great. Anyway, on to the point of my post. I am super impressed with the Q10 battery. I use the phone quite often during the day for email, text, a little browsing, and taking photos. Take a look at this screen shot of the battery use over the last few days. I took it off the charger at 5:46am on Wednesday and it is now after 2pm on Friday and I still have 16% left. Impressive impressive!!! I am lovin this phone.

if you turn on 4G and playing game then yes, 6 hours it's a normal time for Q10.

if you want to improve the battery life, turn on the battery saving mode, change your cellular to 2G or turn the data off if you don't have to use it, set the brightness of the screen to the lowest.

Usage, OS, bbm sync, dropbox use. It all matters.

Here is my passports battery life this morning - some days it lasts 30 hours by comparison. BlackBerry is good at building a secure OS. Battery life in 10.3.1 in some cases however... and this is just bbm use.

Maybe for your needs, but six hours doesn't cut it for my needs (or anyone else I know). A battery charge should last at least twelve hours under medium to heavy usage and my Q10's battery does that easily.

i know how to control my battery adapt to my work job. I always set the brightness to lowest because i still can see everything, i set cellular to 2g when i don't have to use data and even turn data off if i know nothing will happend. So even i use my phone alot, 30+ email per day,50+ text, 10+ phone call, 1+ browsingweb, facebook, pebble connect 24/7 ... my phone still survive for 1 to 1.5 day in 10.3.1.

That is correct. There are many factors regarding battery life, even when you are not using the phone. Background services, Android apps running wild and also syncing to any mail and PIM services can have a drastic impact on the phone's battery life.

For example, more than a month ago I was testing three new mail providers. One of them had obvious issues syncing with BB10. While the content synced fine and fast, the PIM service went crazy and consumed 35-40% of battery life on a typical day. Using my Outlook.com account, with the same settings, PIM consumed 7-10% daily. The provider I settled with, again with similar settings, results in 4-8% of battery consumption.

All you folks talking about setting to 2G on your Q10's, how are you doing it? I don't have the option here in the UK on Orange (EE) network.

The only option I have is for 2G and 3G but my Q10 always finds 3G/H+ on this setting so it's not possible for me to force 2G only.

'3G' shows when scrolling down as far as possible. No 2G only option. And I still get full data speed capability when I set It to 3G, that being 'H+' (or 3.5G) so I can't even regulate the device to regular 3G speed, let alone 2G.

So are you saying other people have a purely '2G' option? I'd like to see a screenshot of that.
