If so, which model (1, 3, 5) was it? I was thinking of picking another one up when/around 10.3.1 is released, but I need it to be the -5.

Let's define 'recently' as the mid-September onwards. Thanks.

You can pick them up on Amazon for much cheaper than you can get them direct from Blackberry.

The one from JoyCells is a 5 and is fulfilled by Amazon.

    Amazon.com: Buying Choices: Blackberry Q10 Black 16GB Factory Unlocked, International Version - 4G / LTE 3, 7, 8, 20 (1800 / 2600 / 900 / 800 MHz)

Look at the one from the seller JoyCells. The description for it says:

    BRAND NEW SEALED. SQN100-5 4G LTE BANDS- 700/850/1700/1900. 3G BANDS- HSDPA 850/1700/1900/2100

Oh my bad. You're right--that is advertised as a -5. I'll have to pass though, considering 1. no warranty on third party purchases, and 2. I might need warranty if this is a double typing unit.

AFAIK, no better or worse than other models. It's just the best compatible with my carrier.

Blackberry doesn't offer warranty coverage for new device purchases from 3rd party retailers? If so, that is a fairly stupid business practice.

I have a 4 and it works really well no typing issues. But I'm insured through my carrier if any problems should come up.

I might grab a second myself soon. I'm 99% sure it's still the -5 and unaware of any change to the model variant being offered through shopbb. The band listing is still the same as the -5.

It's because discount retailers purchase through back channels (carrier overstock, "fell off the truck" situations, open box units passed off as new, etc.), making the phones considered gray market, used, and/or of questionable origin. These aren't authorized retailers. They're simply entities on Amazon selling a phone. Unless the sellers offer their own warranty or the phone is sold by Amazon themselves, there's no warranty. That's why they're less expensive -- albeit not by a huge margin.

I'll probably be the best check for you as I ordered a Q10 a couple days ago via ShopBlackBerry.com and it's coming in on Monday. I could check for you and report back once it comes in if you would like, OP.

For the black Q10, the link that takes you to the band listings list the bands for a -1.

The bands listed on the white one are a joke. No such Q10 exists (LTE 4/5/7.)

You're correct - I refreshed my browser and it updated. Must have been a cached page. I still find it odd that it would change but will stay tuned to this thread to see what gets delivered. My money (all two cents worth... ha!) is still on -5.

Searching the forum is a lot better than hijacking a thread...

    Quickly though :
Type the 5 letters "myver" without the quotes. You will have something like "Q10SQN100-3/10.2.1.3247". Each version of the phone is localized as this :

For the double type problem, you can probably get the keyboard fixed for $30 - 50. See how that works in your calculation as well as the challenges some have had dealing with DR returns and repairs.

If you now add the Q10 to your cart it's back to listing -5 specs for band support:
    "LTE 4,5,7 HSPA 1,2,4,5/6"

Assuming 1700 AWS was your biggest determining factor, band 4 is there per the cart description. The main site still shows -1 specs for whatever reason but the cart currently shows what equates to a -5. I still bet it was always a -5 despite the contradictory descriptions.

As an added bonus they're down to $199. Hopefully you haven't purchased yet.

LTE 7 is 2600 MHz. There's no Q10 variant that has "LTE 4,5,7." They copy pasted the bands from the Z30 -5 lol.

But I just placed an order at $200 Good looking out.

Yes, I doubt this is correct.
Because if it is the case, that's a bit of a hole in the business model.

If you had bought it from Bell, it was a -1. But a -5 on Bell will work just as well.
