Lovin' my Q10 on the leak but one major issue - GPS won't work on any non-native app so I can't track any of my runs! That includes Runtastic from BBW (a port) and sideloaded apks such as Endomondo, GPS Test etc. Google Maps and Skymaps appear to get my location but this is from the network not GPS.
All the Location permissions for these apps are allowed in Settings (but greyed out).
I see from other threads here that Android GPS apps should work OK inc. Sygic etc. so don't know why mine isn't working? Native apps such as BlackBerry Maps and Mireo Don't Panic are fine.

Would this have anything to do with the server malfunction yesterday?

Try to backup your phone, copy Text/MMS messages using SMS Backup app, then wipe the phone. It can take a little while, so no worries. Keep your phone attached to the charger all the time, since it can take an hours or so (there are documented cases that it took up to couple of hours for the phone to finish this task). Then restore the media files using the BlackBerry Link from your backup, restore the contacts, emails and calendar using the mail account you were using (I suggest MS Office 365 Cloud for this, but you could use GMail if you prefer), restore your text messages using SMS Backup and set up our phone manually. It will take couple of hours to do everything correctly, but you will have a brand new phone that's blazing fast. Then, not forget to make a new backup.

Or you could first try to extract Android .bar files from the leak using Sachesi (could be a radio .bar, not exactly sure), reinstall it, and restart your phone afterwards. If nothing helps, you could try installing Android bars from an older leak (or 10.2 official OS). Not sure if that helps.

GPS is hard coded. You can't reload it.
I tried to do this back when I made a hybrid with 10.2.0.341 radio with 10.1.0.4285 OS. It's controlled by the core OS and radio file. Reloading the radio file won't do anything either.
I can however confirm that GPS is indeed working on 10.2.1.1055

Then doing the wipe/partial restore could help.

thanks guys, will give a wipe and reinstall a try (although the leak install was done on a 'clean' phone).

Pretty sure it must be something to do with the Android runtime and not the core OS or radio as the native GPS apps are working fine.

Can anybody confirm if the 'official' port of Runtastic installed through BlackBerry World works on 1055? The GPS icon on mine is permanently red and no maps are displayed.

No different I'm afraid after security wipe and basic setup. No data restored from backup to keep things clean. Sportstracker (native) works. Although CascaRun says it's native in BlackBerry world, it also says no GPS signal. HW is SQN100-3 (UK unlocked)

Yeah... I went back to 10.2.0 until a more secure 10.2.1 leak arrives. Too many bugs but, damn, I like what's to come!

I have the same question. Still not "brave" enough to try 10.2.1.

I'm on 10.2.1.1055 and the GPS works on all of my apps, native and android. Google maps can be a little slower at times. I find myself switching between Google, BBMAPS, and a port called mapsearch for Google (it is pretty good). I must admit that I do prefer Google.

Hmm, what model are you running? Anyone confirm this works on a SQN100-3? (Note Google Maps can be deceiving as it uses cell towers and local Wifi points to determine location, giving the impression that GPS is working when it isnt).

I have a SQN 100-1. I am pretty sure it is using GPS, as it shows me in the middle of nowhere, which I currently am.

Now working. Security wiped again, reinstalled official OS, Runtastic picked up GPS. Upgraded again to 1055 and still working.
One thing I see now that I didn't before (even with native apps) is the location service icon in the top left status bar when using GPS. So the Gremlins have gone - thanks to all for help and advice.
