    What exactly does the GPS location icon in the top left corner mean when you're in the active frames or apps selection view?

    I'm not running any apps that need GPS so why is it there? What's it doing?!

    Location services. From within settings.
    Allows for searches to be relative to location. Blackberry Protect to operate etc

    Go into settings and turn location service off.
    So no, it won't always be on unless you choose it to be.

    Actually I believe that icon means that an app is actively using location services. I was having the same issue with the icon not turning off. I deleted and re installed poynt and that solved it for me.

    I was having the same issue.. Do you have poynt on your phone? I found poynt to be the app that keeps it on even when you have all your apps closed.

    Just check the above and indeed have found the same, that Poynt does indeed keep location live. That's a pain isn't it!
