As indicated by the threads, a number of us are having issues when upgrading BlackBerry Maps. I was one of many, but was fortunate to stumble upon a fix via the reviews at App World.

Using a PC and Internet Explorer, go to http://maps.blackberry.com. Click download (and then again, on the next page). Enter BlackBerry ID and password, when prompted. A link will be sent to your smartphone. Click said link from smartphone and it will open to App World and reinstall.

I hope this works for others. Sorry I cannot help those without PCs.

EDIT: If these steps do not work or you do not receive an email, try connecting the BlackBerry via USB to your computer. Then try the process again.

Nice find. Be even nicer I'd bbry could have something work without workarounds to get it to work.

Try the process again with your device plugged in via USB. A user in another thread said he was prompted to do so.

Will this put the old version back or get new version working?

Thanks for the advice, I am sure it's sound.
Perhaps too many are trying this now. I keep getting all sorts of errors after I get to the log in stage. Tethered, un-tethered, Link on and off.
Standing on one hand... nothing seems to work.
Once proud BlackBerry user since 2001.

STV and il309, it's the older version. But in this case, newer isn't better. Just need it to work!

Simon, so sorry this hasn't been of help. But maybe you are right and there is simply increased traffic at that site. Maybe you could try later...one more time?

The process didn't work perfectly for me the first time either, as I tried it via the BlackBerry Browser. I never once used Link in the process. Suggested tethering, as I said before, because another user said he was prompted to connect via USB when using the PC. I, myself, happened to be tethered because my BlackBerry is my modem (and my email link prompted me to use Internet Explorer as my browser). Other users have had success with strictly the email link on the Berry. I think they were Z10 users. I have a Q10. Maybe there is something to this.
