Double typing issues..do I need to replace the keyboard definitely??

Yep, mine last month started double typing with the "d", replaced keyboard and all is well! The errant key in my case, felt differently.

Updated software should fix the problem. Many threads in the forum discussing this issue. The update fixed all 3 of my devices

Ditched my Q10 when I bought it new two years ago. Double typing after just a month of use.

Fast forward to 2016 and I read the new on a software patch that supposedly fixed the double typing on the Q10, so decided to buy a new Q10 again, immediately updated to the latest firmware after unboxing, and everything has been fine so far. I'm now using my new Q10 as a second phone with my Priv.

So sounds like there are 2 possible fixes related to this problem, but you must first determine if you have an actual keyboard issue for the offending key.

1.) a software and
2.) keyboard replacement.

in my instance, it was the keyboard since the "D key" developed a different feel (no click) to it and it was the only key with the issue.

A software update fixed my double type issue, so if you're not fully up to date I would check that first before buying a new keyboard.

After 2 1/2 years I finally had to replace my Q10 keyboard - well worth it - $10 on Amazon and 30 minutes of work!

If the cause of the double typing is a minor physical issue (often caused by contamination, mild corrosion, etc.), the software fix should be sufficient. But no software can fix some of the issues that crop up on these keyboards (misaligned or collapsed discs, for example). So definitely try the update first. Then, if that doesn't work, the keyboard will need to be replaced. There's also a thread on realigning discs here, if you want to try that.

Opening the keyboard and re-aligning the discs under problem keys will fix the double-typing without having to replace the whole shebangle.
