I was watching YouTube videos before bed and noticed black spots on my screen, only noticeable on an illuminated black screen in an otherwise blackened room. A quick Google search tells me this is a common issue with AMOLED screens, although I haven't seen any other complaints on these forums. Am I the only one with this problem?

You're not the only one. I have one on the top of the screen. This was to be expected though coming from Samsung phones.

Anybody that says they don't have it, don't know what they're looking for.

    seriously?
it is a hardwareproblem... in order to visualize it he would have to take a photograph of his black screen in a dark room...

I don't know if I would even consider it an "issue." I've had three devices with amoled screens, and they've all had the spot in some manner or another. It never affected usability, I think it's just a characteristic of the screen type.

I haven't noticed it on my q10, but haven't tried yet, either.

Do you not see the dark black "ink" spots on the screen? One is in the upper center, the other in the upper right.

So it's just dark spots on an otherwise black screen that's the issue?

No I see a white kind of keyboard and lighter black box above that which is the phone with a light kb and the phones screen.

Okay I brightened up my screen and I can kind enough for make it out.

I've never noticed that on my Q10, but on my Samsung Galaxy Note it was all over the screen and very annoying. I would only see it during any video playback, not just Youtube. I have never seen it on anything other than the black portion of the screen during videos. I don't think it's normal to have that on crackberry forums or other still black pictures.

It maybe that I haven't noticed it because of the smaller screen on the Q10 tho.

Ok, seriously? That's what we're talking about? Let's just say they need to focus on fixing... just about everything else, before they worry about this issue... I don't know how often I'm staring at a black screen in a dark room with my phone... :-D

Sorry to say, I know this probably bothers some people, but honestly, is this really a priority?

So, like, dead pixels? That's usually something you can get a replacement for, under warranty. Most screens are guaranteed to have no more than a certain number of dead pixels, and I honestly haven't seen any since shortly after LCD screens replaced CRTs.

Well, that's not entirely true. My Z10 screen has several(they show up white on the LCD), though it's a replacement screen I got from N4BB. Not exactly production quality.
