I can't get almost any android apps to work at all.

Uber
Facebook
Most games

Nothing ANDROID works on the q10.

Is the device too old? Do apps work near flawlessly if patched correctly? Is it normal to still have major problems if patched? Does patching remove the major problems you have if you just try to run unpatched?

VPN software won't run because it screams at me about Google Services not being running.

Makes me sad. I love my q10 for typing, but I'm not too tech savy.

It's not an Android phone... and it does require a degree of "tech savvy" to install Cobalt's Google Service and Play Store, and then to turn around and Patch those apps (most don't) that require patching.

FaceBook is a known app that isn't going to fully work.
Uber... I've seen comments go both ways on its functionality... probable could work, if you got everything right.
Games... just depends, must be compatible with the now very old Android 4.3.


I'd say that you should be able to get about 80% compatiblity at this point... just depends on where your key apps are in that compatibilty.

And when you try to load the prepatched app, you currently have Google Play Services and all the other required apks installed as per the Cobalt directions?

It isn't the Q10...it is the aging android runtime in Bb10.
