    Hi all,
I'm wondering if these two applications eat away the charging in Q10 battery? Lately my battery charge comes down quicker. Do these apps add up to any existing causes!
    Pls help.

yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WhatsApp uses loads of juice. BBM also if you've got several groups you might belong to. Of the two, WhatsApp is worse.

Yes as stated by qbnkelt whats app is a battery eater for all paltform devices. However BBM in a blackberry device is much battery friendly because of the tight integrtaion and optimization with the device.

I use bbm a lot but no channels joined but I noticed that when I use whatsapp it drains battery faster than when I just use bbm.

    Thank you all for responding.
Does Whatsapp drain it even when it's not being used? I mean I have it installed but not actively texting anyone.

I send and receive well over a hundred whatsapp messages a day and my battery life is still solid (with listening to a lot of music it easily goes from 7am to when I sleep). Maybe it's a data thing? I have my cell radio turned off.
