After a couple of days looking at reviews of the Q10, I am very eager to purchase this phone and use it as my daily driver.

But, there is one issue. Iv seen several video reviews on the Q10, and i noticed when you are in your email inbox for example, and you begin to scroll, the status bar hides itself, resulting in more space for you to view more content. However, in the browser, the URL bar is always on screen, and it never 'hides', which results in a significant amount of wasted screen space. This constricts for sites and webpages to be viewable in the same amount of space as the Bold 9900, which had a smaller screen. Considering the small screen size of the Q10 (with respect to other phones) it only makes sense to make as much screen space available for actual content, rather than a static URL bar.

I can safely assume that BlackBerry visits these forums for user comments and suggestions about there products, so hopefully (with agreement and responses from you fellow users) they can work on updating the browser in a future update and maximize the full potential of the Q10.

I don't mind the static URL bar. It definitely takes up some space, but it's convenient. Plus my other phone is a Windows Phone, and this is the way it works too (static URL bar at the bottom), so I'm familiar with the paradigm.

Yeah. I can definitely see this being an issue with the smaller screens such as the Q and R. I have the Z and it's not a big deal to me as I have enough screen.

** I'm signing the petition for this too. **

But your Windows Phone has a full screen. That valuable space on the Q.

That is certainly true, I'm just saying it's the UI paradigm I'm familiar with.

It'd be great if it disappeared to give us more real estate. It would be really easy to bring the url bar back by sliding up too.

Dolphin on iOS does this very well. That type of implementation would be awesome.

The CB10 bar disappears and comes back when you manipulate the screen - if CB10 can do it; surely BlackBerry can!? Can't be that hard...

Swiping up takes you out of the app actually, your suggestion wouldn't really work that well

I'm for this implementation. *my .02* Could the reader mode be used as a slight workaround until they code the disappearing URL bar? I understand it might not work with some content, but it's something that might be useful in the meantime.

Maybe a double tap somewhere or a minimized tab that one can press to bring up the full address bar.

Chrome for Android (Nexus 4) does this very well too (now at least). Google recently updated Chrome to allow the URL bar to hide once you begin scrolling down a webpage, and when you begin scrolling back up, the URL bar pops right back down. If this feature is present on phones with large screens, it obviously becomes somewhat of a necessity on phones with small screens, like the Q10.

There is a full screen browser mode. I accessed it by accident a couple times today by double tapping the screen (I think). Haven't had time to track down this topic in the user guide, but I know for a fact it's in there. Maybe someone will beat me to it.

Really? Wouldnt double tapping just zoom in on the screen? Perhaps someone else can verify this.

What if you hit U like on the older blackberrys? Maybe just keep trying different keyboard shortcuts while in the browser. I would, but i'm not getting the phone until Monday.
