Some help needed. i've just changed my os to the 10.2.1.1925 leak, but can't seem to install Google Maps. i downloaded it via mobogenie, click on install, but at the end, it'll tell me "unable to install". the icon appears on my phone anyway, click on it, but it doesn't open.

    appreciate any help

Yes it worked before when I sideloaded it into my phone. It didn't work after changing to the leak. Every other android app which I had sideloaded before still works (LINE and Top Eleven), except for google maps

I'd suggest side loading the bar that you were using.
I'm betting that the APK you just downloaded is a higher build number which requires excess information from Google 'sorry the technical terms have evaded me'.
Certain Google dependent apps will not work on the new leaks

Not sure what else I can offer to assist you.

I myself have been using BeMaps pro since it was released to app world.

Best of luck and hopefully someone with a little more know how can help you out

Side load snap and just do a direct install like you have the whole google play store. That's what I did.

Check your files and see if you have a cache or an apk of the maps in there. If you do, delete it. Or use Clean Master (in the Snap app) and use it to find any google droid garbage. I suspect that your issue has something to do with old google maps stuff that's still in your phone.

i figured out the problem. apparantly when i restored my data, it restored google maps as well. however, the icon cannot be found, and if i were to go to App Manager, i won't find the app installed as well. yet, it is installed somewhere in the phone. it didn't affect my other android sideloads though.

i found this out when i wiped the phone, and sideload google maps right after i was done with it. guess what? it could be installed and opened successfully. i'm not sure why Clean Master could not eliminate it, but i guess this was the only way. now i have to download/sideload all my apps 1 more time.

anyway, i like to thank everybody for helping out. appreciate it!

    i'm having the same problem.
deleted the app via device monitor and now i can't re-install any version back.
sounds like a wipe is the only solution..

    That's bad.
So once you install you can't uninstall and reinstall? So better name sure we get it right the first time.
Google maps is extremely important for me. I need it on a daily basis and I don't need to be logged in. Does the GPS work on Google maps?

One handed operation is huge, at least BB should have added on screen buttons for zoom in/out!

I know this is an old thread, but I'm having the same issue. However, if I use the Chrome installer I can install some old version of Google maps (6.x) that I had sitting around. When the old version is actually installed, trying to install the new Google Maps apk gives an error message saying that there is another version of the app installed. I then tried uninstalling the old Google Maps, and trying the apk again, but ended up with the same initial result. It seems that it doesn't want to uninstall cleanly. I tried all sorts of cleaning tools, but no luck.
