I am buying a Q10 tomorrow. My wife has a Z10, which she loves but i am buying a Q10 tomorrow as I like the physical keyboard feel. My help question is...what I want to do is try my new Q10 for 5 days and then try my wife's Z10 for 5 days and do a comparison. So can I accomplish this by just swapping the SIM cards on both devices or is it a little more complicated than that?? After 10 days I'll know whether to keep my Q10 or return it and get a Z10 and I'll post a report! Many thanks in advance

It is as simple as that man! My wife and I have done the same. She has Z, I have Q, simple swap. That's the joys of using a SIM Card.

On a side note, they both either have to be on the same carrier or unlocked devices for them to work with your carrier sim card.

Nope. Both of them being on Telus is all you need. My wife and I both of Rogers devices and it works no problem.
That's actually the main reason why we both go different devices. So when we wanted to switch and try the other one, we easily could.

I think it gets complicated with BBM and whatsapp that you need to switch from one phone to the other.

All he would need to do is a simple back up and restore from one device to another. BBM is even backed up with his BBID. and I am not sure how whatsapp works as I have never used it.

I am going to unlock my Z10 on Rogers and trade with my friends Q10 on Fido. He is coming from iPhone. Loves BlackBerry 10, hates physical keyboard. If the devices are unlocked will we have any problems swapping? Also, someone on CB also posted that the software will load Rogers on his Fido Q10 once I put my Rogers sim in. And vice versa. Is this true?

May depend on your carrier. I use a Z10 and a Q10 with SaskTel here in Canada and I simply swap out the SIM whenever I want. It just automatically works. However, I'm finding that using the Q10 as my main communications device and the Z10 as a wifi only device through my mobile hotspot works good, so I rarely swap SIM cards.

There might be a problem with this. I had a friend who has a Fido 9790, and whenever he brought it over to Rogers, he doesn't get 3G and such with it. He only ever gets EDGE.
Could be worth looking into. You might actually have to unlock the Fido phone for it to work fully on the Rogers network.
