Hey everyone. My friend works at virgin mobile and she told me that BlackBerry recalled all their Q10's. There wasn't an explanation though.

Did anyone hear anything about this?

Actually someone else in another thread mentioned that BlackBerry recalled all Q10s and Z10s from one of the UK phone stores. (Forget which one).

Apparently it might have to do with BlackBerry wanting to reload the software.

You should maybe tell your friend that Virgin Mobile should smarten up about not having the Z30 when most providers even Rogers have it.

Same applies with EE all Z10's and Q10's were recalled - most logical explanations which is got told; is that when they over order they have in the contracts a refund if they can't shift the stock so the company doesn't take a hit on it. Same thing happened with Nokia about a year ago.

    This isn't a "recall"...

I think there's a terminology issue... When I think of a "recall", I think of catastrophic defects, not sales/stock management issues. Is there another word for the latter?

I can only dream that they take every BB10 device back so they can start to sell them on their own! Unlocked and no longer ****ty updates!

But hey, it is only a DREAM

It's probably not a "recall" but more of an inventory buy back as part of the contract signed with the carrier.

That sounds more likely. Though, for a second I thought that BlackBerry was trying a different approach to get around carrier testing for official 10.2 release?! How silly of me...

Nope was recall. Sorry guys. I'll ask her to take screen shot of the message they received if you still have disbelief. I don't even belong in this section, I have a z10
