Guys do you need to hold the end call button for a bit to end the call.
it takes a couple of taps to end the call.
I seem to have to press and hold for a second rather than a tap...maybe as i have fat fingers :D
oh right....thats where ive been going wrong!
Why do you need to press it twice to end the call? I've yet to buy a Q10 so just wondered.
You shouldn't have to do anything special one tap is good enough to end a call. I jus tried it on my q10 atleast 5 times.

Sorry for the confusion - I meant it usually took a couple of taps for ME to end a call. I did not mean it is designed to work this way. I think it is a bug.
Hmmm that is oddd bug to occur.

It's also like that when swaping in between phone and Bluetooth hands free device. it's pretty annoying.

I think it's just a sensitivity bug.. sort of like it needs to 'snap to button' when you click something. I get it on my end call button as well as a few times in the settings menu. Not the most annoying bug in the world except when I'm hanging up and calling the person an ***** under my breath and notice I haven't hung up yet.

I have the same issue on mine the call doesn't seem to end on the first hit on End call. Its annoying.
I'd heard about this from the sales girl at the carrier store, so it appears to be a fairly common thing. I hope they're working on a fix to improve response, a large chunk of my speed dial and address book numbers go to law enforcement agencies, and they do NOT like pocket dials or misdials. With my current 9800, when I misdial them I can immediately hit the End Call hardware button which ends the call before even dialing out.
My Z10 usually needs two taps. But not all the time. Display might be too dirty with me fat fingers! :D
Could also be proximity sensor issue (hopefully software related) where the phone doesn't react quick enough to give you back the screen so it's not registering the first tap. Just a thought, I have seen similar on other phones when trying to answer or hang up while preforming another action and the phone isn't "ready" to register my tap.
My Z10 is the same way. I think it's just delayed and our minds tell us to tap twice.

My Z is delayed. I bet the Q is the same. It takes a minute to register. Tap once and wait, try it.

I think they made it harder to end a call because if the device's screen wakes up while it's against your face, it prevents you from accidentally hanging up. My 9900 wakes up during a call sometimes and switches to speakerphone or mutes my microphone. I'm actually glad to see that they made it take 2-3 taps to make it end the call.
Why not invest in a bluetooth headset? You can end the call with it and also keep the phone off your face.....

I haven't experienced this but have seen that the proximity sensor is very sensitive whilst on a call.

I have a bluetooth headset but the microphone quality is not nearly as good as having the microphone right by my mouth. Usually on windy days people cannot hear me.
This.. right here.
Looks like any tapping required along the bottom edge takes a few taps on my Q10. Starting to get annoying especially when it takes 4 or 5 taps to get response. But all else good so far. Q10 is nice tho.
do you guys see the same in text selection when typing as well? ( the words you can chose from )
Thanks.
Did not older Blackberry models utilise a proximity sensor to automatically end the call when the phone was put (back) in the holster?
Does enyone know if the flip shell case for the Q10 works the same way (when closing the lid)?
The general consensus on the forum is that blackberry released the phone before it had the bugs ironed out!
