Has anyone noticed any difference in the frequency of double typing on the Q10 since upgrading to 10.3.1? Better - worse - same?

I find fewer issues but have also just put my otter box back on. Not sure if everything is being held together more tightly?

Given how many people are effected and how quiet bbry has been, not much of an address. No follow-up? No articles about how the classic or passport may be prone to this or what steps they've taken to ensure it won't happen? No push for an official response?
    Fair enough.

The OS makes no difference. The double typing issue is hardware related. Period. Fortunately, the newer keyboards with "rev1" printed on them seems to fix the problem according to many posts here on CrackBerry.

Agreed. No difference. I was almost second guessing my android purchase a couple of weeks ago now that 10.3 is out... Nope lol. Double typing reminded me why I switched.

I haven't faced the issue again, after updating to V10.3. But lost my hotspot somewhere

Just got the REV 1 put in. Seems like the double issue typing is gone, at least for now. I don't know if it will help anyone, but below is a pic I took of the keypad that was replaced:

Yes, those are the older bad keyboards. The New fixed keyboards say rev1 on the right side.

Sorry to say, I replaced a rev 1 keyboard, due to double typing. My first one lasted about 6 months, the second about 4 months.

Attached is a picture of two bad keyboards, both rev 1.

Wow. Do you have to be such a downer? How's the Calgary keyboard holding up? Mine's fine so far... If it starts double typing again, I'm going back to the 9900 permanently.

The rev 1 keyboard i had put in was done here in Calgary where i am for work right now. This keypad has a way better feel and absolutely no double typing at all. I highly doubt the double typing will come back.

Re sizing every web page, no tapatalk, ebay app is hopeless, emails need re sizing, images can't be handled correctly, facebook is limited. Never had issues with my HTC.
Hardware keyboard problems, battery connection issue.... poor quality build in summary. I would love for the Q10 to be awesome but it's not and that's the truth.

I couldn't disagree with you more. I am in the top 2% of power usage and am fighting off my company who are trying to upgrade our fleet to Classics.

You really need to re-evaluate something. Perhaps you got a defective phone or your router / wireless speed is crap (really, mobile devices are centered around a zippy WiFi / Network speed. If you don't have this your device will lag a lot)

You'll know for sure in about 3-6 months; that's about how long it seems to take for the problem to surface. Until then, enjoy your keyboard! I know I'm enjoying mine.

Also, if you plan to use you Q10 for about another year, you might consider picking up a spare keyboard, just in case. It's hard to say if they'll still be available in 6 months. You can order them for $15 each.

It's sad for me to report that my new Q10 has already started double typing. Let my OCDING on this issue commence.

So there's this theory, that the initial batches of phones had high chances of developing double typing - which were later revised in devices made in 2014. Now, no one really knew how to tell when a phone was made, except by looking at the label on the side of the boxes.

But that date may not necessarily indicate the date it was made, but rather, the date the box was put together. For example, a lot of unsold carrier phones could've been sent back to BlackBerry to be updated with the 10.2.1 OS, repackaged, and sent back.

So it's impossible to really tell.

All I know is, my SQN100-5 that was bought direct from BlackBerry in May of 2014 had no issues at all when I sold it in October 2014.

My current SQN100-1 (Telus) has a 2014 date on the box, but I don't think that's the date it was made, because the keyboard felt like the "old" one, Vs the one I had on my SQN100-5.

I still have the theory that many of their new phones were in fact remedied of the problem.

All this other talk by people on here with keyboards bought from ebay, or "new" phones bought from 3rd parties or carriers, is inconclusive.

I'm keeping a close eye on double typing on the passport and classic to see, if they actually fixed it or not.

The truth is, there are too many variables to be absolutely certain.

From the limited data we can assemble from this thread, it would seem the issue was never corrected.

To add a level credibility to that claim, both the Passport and Classic seem prone to the issue - these are much newer phones which (it is reasonable to assume) would have incorporated "the fix" out of the gate, if such a fix exists.

Finally, because BlackBerry has been completely silent, we'll never know if:

    1) BlackBerry knows, but didn't want to risk negative press by admitting the issue, and didn't want to sink what little R&D cash it has into engineering a fix.

    2) BlackBerry doesn't know, so no fix was put into play.

1 is despicable - but business is business.

    2 makes them looks stupid.

    Either way, we lose.

I think in fact that BlackBerry did address this by supplying new keypads that don't have the double typing issue. I know it worked for me.
