Each time the network connection is lost, which is very often on the Q10, I get a notification. I have looked everywhere how to switch off that notification to no avail. So I had to switch off BlackBerry Protect to stop them.
    Any idea?

I started a thread on this a few days ago and saw another yesterday. I didn't get a solution and didn't look like there was one for the person asking yesterday either. Maybe third time lucky!

I got that alert once but it has not been a problem. There are hardly any settings available for Protect on this platform. When I used it on 7.1, however, I had ticked the option to backup only over wifi. Perhaps, that setting was retained by default. If so, it will only attempt a connection with a good wifi connection... pure speculation.

Are you using wifi? I had the message a couple times but it was related to a filter on the router blocking out some of the BlackBerry services. In other words, is it related to a wifi connection or just when you loose cellular data and you do not have wifi enabled on the phone?

Each time, network connection is lost (out of wifi range or weak radio signal) , I get that notification. I want to get rid of the notification, or at least the sound of it. Nowhere in the notifications menu is there anything about BlackBerry Protect.

Happens to me as well, on my z10. Every time service gets dropped that notification pops up. Hopefully BlackBerry will fix this. Hey... at least we know protect is working, haha

I did not have it on the Z10, just on the Q10.

Is it perhaps a 10.1 thing?

If I've understood correctly the issue is the inability to silence Notifications - whatever their source - rather than the trigger itself?

It may just be a BlackBerry Network problem. I only had it happen one day. There were problems with the BlackBerry network yesterday. Perhaps it is related?

No, it's not an issue with the BB network - it's the way BB Protect is set up on the Q10 (I'm assuming 10.1). It sends you a notification to let you know that it's no longer connected to BB Protect because the network is unavailable when you go out of an area where there is cell coverage. I'm not sure how to turn it off, but my phone is on vibrate only all the time (or most of the time, anyway) so it doesn't really bother me.

I just tried disabling wifi and putting the phone in a spot where I don't get service and I did not get the Protect notice. I am on 10.1.0.1720, so it may be fixed in this OS if it is OS related rather than network related.

The fix seems simple - a tweak to allow Notifications sounds to be modified through settings in the same way as they are for messages etc.
