    Does the official BlackBerry hard shell have a lip on it at all that protects the screen if you put the phone face down on a table? Or is it like my soft shell that is flush with the screen and therefore does not protect the screen.

    It is like the soft shell, so there is no lip protecting the device when laid face down.

    Oh that sucks. I really want to stick with BlackBerry products but my get the Crunk case instead. I mainly let the phone go naked but for times when I want a case I want thin, sleek, light weight, and a slight lip to protect screen

    The transform case has this so if you place face down it won't touch the surface.
