I am verry happy with my Q10. There is only one big problem, reading PDF files on the small screen. I receive quite some PDF's from work, and I have to look at them a few times a day. When I use my Z10, the screen is big enough to manage, but I miss the keyboard. So, do any of you guys use a "companion" device for viewing files, browsing the web or other stuff? A tablet, laptop or anther smartphone?

As a companion device I would recommend and iPad mini retina. I use it all the time and it's great.

No Android for me, I totally hate that bulky OS. An iPad is an option. I'm also considering a Lumia 1520. Or a Z30... difficult to choose!

Exactly my configuration. I use the LTE version and could not ask for anything else. Apps, movies etc run on the iPad and the Q10 shines where it is best: at pumping out messages. The loadout is completed with my work-issued Bold 9900...

So I guess an iPad mini it will probably be. Still very interested in the Lumia 1520, or the Z30. Ow well, I'll go to the electronics shop here and try them all out!

If you're looking to replace the Q10 with one device, I'd say Z30 for sure. However, if you plan to keep the Q10 and are simply looking to supplement it, then the iPad mini retina is the way to go.

Depending on your budget, PlayBook would be good for your PDF files and if you can find one it would be cheap. The Bridge is cool. The MS Surface RT is cheap and would be great, nice big screen and it comes with full MS Office. For me, I have a MacBook Air, very expensive, but the ultimate companion as you can have windows or Mac OS.

I have a shared data plan on Verizon. So all my companion devices run off the Q's Mobile Hotspot. It's a great set up.

I deal with PDF on regular basis and I can't stand small screens as well. My configuration for documents is Q10 + Playbook. While PB is not so "cool" anymore compared to the latest tablets, it's OK for basic tasks with PDF, Excel, Word.
However, when I have to edit PDFs, I pick up my laptop, of course.

I've got a surface rt 64gb, which I love. Not a big apple guy, but the iPad mini is the perfect size, and is definitely better than android. Are you thinking of the 1520 as a secondary device? Or just a companion?

I'm still thinking about getting a 1520 or a Z30, as a companion or a replacement of the Q10. The problem is, that I need the small form factor and keyboard for ease of communication.

Playbook is what I use with my Q. Like a couple others have mentioned, it's fine for quick reads or changes to pdf's, excel and word documents. If I have big changes to make, I find a desktop.
