I think there is something wrong I never go over 2 gigs in a month and I'm on this thing all day.
Try reloading the software and then wipe it.

    2.5gig unlimited allotment?

After two and a half gigs of high speed 4GLTE, the speed is throttled back to what feels like a uphill steady crawl.

Tmo calls that unlimited. Access doesn't stop its just slowed to a snails pace.

Also when you set up emails and choose the "forever" retrieval option, it eats a ton of data pulling aall those emails.

Maybe turning off data service will help, and as what previous mentioned, BIS is probably the reason?

How is this acceptable? 10x the data for the same basic functionality? This cost me $150 for a week in Europe? What fruitcakes designed this?

How do you turn off App Permissions?

    Set apps to update manually?
I guess we got used to BIS. There was a CB member who bought a Q10 from Selfridges who travelled the world lots. He returned his Q10 because of the roaming data costs. I think we're now in the same boat as Android & ios.

From the home screen type "app per", select App Permissions then from there you can change them individually.

In Blaq for example, swipe down from the top and you can set it to update from every hour down to 5 minutes. Some app allow you to manual update.

Yes, it is the loss of BIS that has caused this. I bit the bullet and purchased a pre-paid portable wi-fi device to compensate for my increase in data usage. It killed me to do so, though.

I don't have many apps installed on my Q10 and I'm using only about 150mb a month. I do have bis enabled on my contract and make a lot of use of hotpots. My Q10 was bought sim free as a replacement for a bold. Also I'm only on 3G. Don't think the bis will make any difference to my Q10 where it helps a lot with bolds? I'd check what apps you have installed - I don't think BlackBerry have checked as thoroughly as they did with os5/6/7. Some games produce traffic if data services are on - might be heavy if badly written. Bbm voice - I thought was just over wifi but if not that could burn data
However bad it won't be any worse than android probably about same.
