    Greetings guys,

Since I got my BlackBerry Q10 I've noticed that the battery drains quickly. On my way to work I use the phone for all the 20 mins it takes the train to get me there and once I'm done, I'm left with 95% battery life.

I don't use the phone while working so I leave it locked and turn off data connections, when I go back to it, it has already lost at least 4%.

I go out to have lunch from 10:00 until 10:30 while using the phone, after that the phone is down to 70% from 91%.

Again, I leave the phone and pick it up with 67-68% and in the 20 mins it takes me to get home it's down to 50-59% (depends on the day) and then I have to charge it.

This happens with 4G or 3G, doesn't matter. I've tried turning off gestures whilst locked and it seems to improve maybe by an extra 2 or 5%.

During that time I'm only checking Twitter, Facebook, maybe a little Instagram and chatting on BBM.

Now, compared to my iPhone 4S this is practically the same battery life with a smaller screen and a bigger battery. And here comes my question, is this right? What's going on? I changed to this phone mostly for the battery life and physical qwerty keyboard, I'm thinking I might've made the wrong decision if this is supposed to be like that.

First things first, what OS version and carrier are you on? Oh and are you running any sideloaded android apps?

I have at least 4-5 bars of signal at work so it's pretty good.

I have had my Q10 a week with no apps except what it came with; as well the phone has the latest carrier released 10.2 firmware and using it only for text and email I have much less than stellar battery life.

Battery life apparently improves as you go, but this sounds like a dud. I'd return to where you got the phone and get a new battery.

Sorry! I made the wrong post- that's how my battery was at first and now mine can almost last 2 days. Give it time to strengthen. Other option is to reload 10.2- not a leaked version.

I'll try to load an official 10.2 version and see how it goes, I've had the current leak for about 1 month and I haven't noticed improvement since I installed it. Thanks guys.

    SMS: none. Camera/Video/Music: not used.
Occasional playing with settings and different applications, may be 15 min.

WiFi: always on. Within WiFi coverage: 70% of the day, otherwise 2G/Edge. Bluetooth: on/off.
Hub: 5 email accounts, with various sync time (5 min, 30 min, 1 hour, 2 hours, 4 hours).

Active frames always on: Battery Guru (used for this analysis).
Applications in background (as per Device Monitor): Settings, Phone, Search, Hub, BBM, BB Travel, Battery Guru, Docs To Go.
Screen timeout: 30 sec. Lock screen gestures and notifications: On. Brightness: 70%-80%.
Bedside mode 7-8 hours per day.
When not in use, always in BB authentic pocket pouch (magnetic).
    OS: 10.2.0.424.

    Results --
Batterly level drop (as per Battery Guru), average:

But can you trust battery guru? I mean, I've had different programs all telling me different things about my phone. I'm a tad skeptical with those apps
