Some new users still complain about not being able to assign a key to a person to call.
    Since 10.2.-Update, it is possible:

    1. On the main screen, tap the phone symbol (bottom left corner)
    2. Now you're in the "phone App"
    3. Long-press the key you want to use
That's it! The remaining steps are intuitive!

    Enjoy!

Hey, thanks! This is working for me too on 10.2.0.429. Maybe it worked before too but I never tried the long press while in the phone app.

It works since the global 10.2 update (sorry for our US friends) but since some users still mention it when coming from legacy devices, I thought I should write it as a thread and not always answering each poster...
I am pleased to read that in 10.2.1+ it would be possible from the mainscreen, but I can live with it as it is now!

It works and it works well.
It also seems since 10.2 pressing/holding down a key while the phone is ringing renders the device silent!
You can still answer with down swipe but keys provide an alternate ignore feature.
Ooh how much id like an alternate answer key.

On Z10 go to dial pad. Top slide down settings. Go to key pad speed dialing. Select the contacts nd assign them numbers 2-9. Number 1 is assigned to voice call by default nd locked.

This is easier in 10.2.1.1055. You can hold any key from the main screen and it automatically opens the phone app and asks to assign the key. Once assigned it dials from home screen as well. Glad to see these things coming back.

Even in 10.1, simply pushing either volume button would render the device silent when it rang.

Just touching the screen should silence a call.
