Why such a long wait in between the z10 launch and q10 launch? And the pre-orders for the q10 were back in feb and doesn't come out till April? I just don't get the long wait for release!

They weren't preorders, they were "pre registrations" so that you could be the first to receive email notifications regarding the Q10 from the carriers.

It's the app gap. Z10 apps need modifying in order look correctly in the different resolution.

The reason the US release of the Z10 is late is due to "carrier testing" which was late. The US carriers haven't tested the Q10's yet is my guess. If I had of known the Q10 release was this long I would have gotten the Z10 in the mean time. O well, Hurry Up and Wait.

I think part of the reason for the staggered release of the Q10, along with the app-gap and career testing, is BlackBerry's attempt to introduce acompetitive full-touch device into the market without dtracting attntion from it with the classic Bold form-factor. They've done that with the Z-10, but keep in mid that the Z-10 has yet to reach the all too important US market and so the same staggering has to take place there as well as the rest of the world. I predict the Q10 will be released abou a month after the US Z10 releases.
Regardless of how much I'm currently suffering from clutching this 9790 - chosen over the 9900 for it's superior camera - while a modern BlackBerry is available.
Just a guess though.

April 15th for the Q10 in Canada from what I heard through my 2 buddies. Also 10.1 all Canadians carriers do have right now. 10.1 is ready to go but we all know about carrier testing. Expect 10.1 on the Z10 within 2-3 weeks. BBM in landscape mode works now

don't expect 10.1 for US Z10 for at least a month after. Verizon especially is the one that needs their 3 month testing procedures

I really hope for April as BBRY needs to get that phone out ASAP. It will come out with 10.1 which should bring more excitement on the table.

I wonder if the Q10 is going to have many apps... Due to screen shape and whether there was enough time for developers to create apps for the Q10.

The screen size just isn't ideal for gaming and many other different apps. Then again, it's not meant for gaming. But I can see the media flaming the Q10 hard about it's lack of apps.

EDIT: I just realized how off topic that was. But I think optimistically, early April is what I'm feeling. Though the April 15th time frame feels more realistic.
