After 3 weeks with my Q10 replacement for my Torch 9810 ... I've packed it in and gone to a Bold 9900.

Dropped email account x2 or x3 times a day ... and just too much hassle digging through crap to keep the Hub on top. Browser absolute beating. Found I was working too hard to keep the Q10 happy. Got my Bold 9900 and fell back in love with the BB7 presentation in about 5 minutes.

You if course will now be severly battered by the ones who move forward not back, and expect everyone, no matter how they get on with BB10 to go with them...no matter how unhappy those users are.

I enjoyed my 9320, and like my Z10.....but my thoughts are that everyone should use the device that suits them, without getting strung up or stoned....

    Enjoy your 9900

I think you'll find that the vast majority of Q10 users are not experiencing issues with email accounts dropping from the phone; maybe a reinstall of the OS or something would have fixed that?

Regarding " and just too much hassle digging through crap to keep the Hub on top. Browser absolute beating " .. you can filter the hub by account, if thats what you meant... Or ignore the hub completely and go into each app for your messages (like you do on the 9900)... Im not sure what you meant by Browser absolute beating, but, the 9900 browser is far, far, far inferior to the Q10's... so you surely couldnt have gone back to the 9900 for its browser...

Maybe give the Q another go? I personally could not ever go back to a 9900; smaller screen (q's is too small as it is), no LTE, no front camera, worse back camera, no android player, horrible browser, limited future app development (even more so than the limited development for the Q)... *shrug*

... but the 9900 is definitely prettier. Q10 is def less charismatic in the looks dept

Yep. No I will be excoriated severely.

Perhaps the Z10 would have been a better choice but wanted the QWERTY of course and couldn't hold out for the potential Q30 either as the Torch trackpad flat died. Problems with the Q10 ... some by design ... and some undoubtedly operator error ... just got to be too much of a hassle.

Seriously when FedEx delivered my new 9900 yesterday afternoon I dropped everything to get it up and running. Am really glad I still had the 9810 and could move contacts, calendar and mail etc from it to the 9900 ... because moving stuff backwards from an OS10 device to an OS7 device is logically not supported by BB (if they supported that it would be a tip off that OS10 devices were problematic).

Features you prize aren't that big to me ... camera (front or back), don't do video and few apps. Problem w/Q10 browser was closing windows. Clutter. The dropped email issue is subject of a BB KB ... with no resolution. Caused ostensibly by the Q10 poling the email server same time as another device (laptop Outlook) is poling it. Q10 gets denied entry and assumes that the server address or password is wrong and just punts .. sending you a notification that you need to reload account details.

I will be happy with the 9900. See ya'll around! Am headed over to a 9900 forum if there is one. Just a bunch of reprobates I guess.

I found my 9900 had superb build quality... But my sample size was 1 to your 7, so i'll defer to your point of view there.. Speed, yea... brutally slow, tho I guess the OP might not notice if he only uses the phone for messaging and whatnot..

@OP, fair enuf... enjoy the 99

I have only had two Q10's but both are solid. I had problems with the keyboards on my 9900's. I also has light bleed through the keys on each one them.

I get exactly where you're coming from. Love my 9900 too.

I spent hours with the Q10 in store but just couldn't see the point of an inferior messaging device inn terms of UI. Because that's all I want it for..........although a fast browser would be nice.

Can't wait for the Q20/30 to arrive

Lol hours on a BB10 phone is not long enough to fully learn the OS. You will have the same issues with the Q20.

Did the same thing. I had a Q10 for 6 months and hated swiping the damn touchscreen to do everything and taking off my gloves in 30 below weather to answer the phone. phone had to go in for service and i got a 9900 as a service loaner. went out and bought one 2 days later and i'll never give it up until the network stops supporting it or blackberry brings back my navigation keys.

served me well. But will upgrade to the Q10 as soon as I am eligible.

@ windingmywatch...wish I knew you I would have traded my 9900 with you and given you cash for your q10.
Your decision but in my opinion you are going backwards from a technology perspective, 9900 is a very good
device, but the OS is at its max...if you are into apps you will be sorry. As time goes on app developers aregoing to leave os7 behind and move too BB10. Anyway good luck with your 9900, it is a good device, even if it is somewhat dated ;-)

To the OP: make sure you update to the latest version of OS 7.1 stickied in the Bold 9900 forum (especially if yours is still on 7.0). It's the one from O2 UK. Mine runs much cooler after the update, and the battery lasts a lot longer.

It's cool OP, I did the same thing, but for different reasons. As long as software from Google is anywhere inside the OS (and I don't care if it's "virtualized" or not), I won't be rolling with it. Since they probably won't be giving the option to remove the Android runtime too soon, BBOS is my daily driver.

Also, you can remove the runtime.. but your comment did sound a little bit tinfoil hat-ish
