First day of release? That depends a whole lot on what comes with it and how much they are asking for. I'll keep my eyes and ears open on announcement day... if the price fits the hardware, yes. If not, I can wait a few days, weeks, or even months if need be. I'm not going to pay more than the Passport for less than the Passport on opening day.

With so many complaints about the BlackBerry passport floating around, would you pick up the slider on its launch date?

I often hear the problems are mostly with the first batch of the devices. I myself quite confused bcoz of issues faced by other passport users.

Honestly hope BlackBerry does some real testing on the slider before pushing it out.

Currently I have a Red BlackBerry passport and I haven't faced any issues with it so far. I had a z30 before passport and it was also very good.

Yes. I'd order a Slider the minute it goes on sale. No problems with my Passport, which I ordered on launch day.

No. A slider seems like a step back to me. Next thing they will add a home button. Ugh.
They did add a home button, its called the Classic

Nope maybe a month or two later to see sales reports and if the price comes down a little or not. The Z10 I got in April 2013 was $200 cheaper than if I had gotten it day one and just happened to be the day 10.1 was released which I didn't know at the time.

Well... It depends on the hardware and screen size. I would like a 5"+ screen. Then I would move from PassPort to slider

Yes, if BlackBerry can give it hardware specs that at least match the Passport. As a former Palm webOS owner (my final one being the hp Pre3), I look forward to getting the best of both VKB and PKB worlds. I really hope BlackBerry will learn its lessons from all past devices' shortcomings, whether it's all LTE bands in one version, Qi wireless charging for all versions, failing to have a decent native Snapchat app, eliminating double typing, releasing versions for all major carriers (no exclusivity). If prepared and marketed properly, the Slider could be attractive to all buyers, whether they be the enterprise or consumers.

Yes. I love my Passport, but I also loved my Z30. I missed the boat on the Torch, but love the idea of having the best of both worlds.

Of course, I like to try all BB devices, so the idea of a BB10 slider excites me.

YES and I hope the new slider has one as well. I want a bigger 9810 running BB10 ( with all the features of BBOS 7.1) and a fully fuctional Link. Other then that I'm easy to please.

Yes, because I've never had any hardware problems out of the box, with any of the BB smartphones I've owned.

Not first day, probably couple of weeks/months later

Am probably getting a Z30 this month and wish to spend a few months with it. Have to get more info on the device like specs, price, pictures and real world usage reports here on CB to form a concrete decision. I would really have loved an updated full touch, but it is what it is.

Personally I hope there's no home button! I'd be fine with a Z10 or z30 sized phone that just has a slide out pkb

I would not. I like the full screen BlackBerry's and can type just fine. Having a slider seems like it would add to the cost, weight and potential problems. I have no use for it. If they only offered a slider and a physical keyboard phone with no touch screen only, then I would get the slider.

Yes. Just hoping my 2 and 1/2 year old Z10 holds up until then. Stills seems to be getting better with time. If not I will have to move to the Passport.
