Heard this but not sure if it's true whether the Priv will be equipped with BB10 OS instead of Android. Apparently it might come out in February. Anyone know if this is true?

Anything you may have heard about BB10 on the Slider is the result of an unsubstantiated rumour.

No one has any "video footage" of a Slider running BB10. No one with unimpeachable credibility has stated that there will be a BB10 version of the Slider. John Chen (BlackBerry CEO) has made statements to the effect of "porting BB10 to the Slider is too costly to make a business case."

That is the current status as it is known.

I'd LOVE to wait until someone hacks it to install BB10. I get that they've made droid "much more secure" than it would be, but I'll bet there's no locking down G00-gle's kernel-based keystroke logging & data grabbing.

But still before they keep it in stock or sell it cheap why not install other software on it and sell a couple more with full price.
Depends how much efforts and costs it takes to get that done

Far more than it would be to be profitable - if we take BBRY at their word, the pre order has always been bigger than all of the last few BB10 devices (admitly that's not hard). BBRY has been planning this switch for two years - its this or bust for hardware.

There isn't even an SDK that supports the higher resolution of the Priv and there are no Qualcomm drivers and no sign they want to pay for any.

Blackberry said that if more than one thread was started on this topic, that they would cancel the BB10 version of the Priv. Oh sh*t....

In my case all depends on the hub on the priv.
If it is good as on bb10 I'll try it, if not I stick to the passport

You will be waiting a long time. BB10 won't be able to be installed on the Priv without BlackBerry's blessing.

Priv was designed for Android from the beginning in 2014. Priv was never intended to have BB10 and won't.
