Try using an app called battery guru. It will detect apps that run in the background. I have had questionable battery life with my phone as well (xperia z5 premium user; upgraded from passport). Sony claimed to have 2 days worth of battery life for this phone with its 3430mah battery. I was not seeing that performance even on marshmellow. Could still get though a day but not comfortably.

Tried greenify. Seemed to help out a bit but was still seeing inconsistent battery life. After downloading battery guru, I'm seeing a significant increase in battery life (at least 20 percent more). I could now get the two days of battery life sony claims with moderate use. The battery is even better than my passport battery was.

With that being said, give it a try. No harm in trying. Hope this helps.

    Lol crystal,

What carrier do you use ?

It should come up as an automatic update ,

Marshmallow is an operating system , think windows , android etc, it's a version of Android.

You're battery will improve with the marshmallow update.

Open Main Settings. Scroll till you see the Battery option. Open that. Look for apps or processes that may be using the battery a lot.

If you want, you can put the Battery Info icon on one of your homepages. Tap the All-Apps Button (the round one with the 6 dots). At the top, tap Shortcuts, scroll there and then drag the Battery icon to one of your homepages.

Man I'm kinda glad verizon waited to get this phone. Mine very seldom gets hot. It does get warm at times but nothing more than any other android I had. Had an HTC desire that would burn you. Hated that phone. Incidentally it was my first smartphone. So when I compare my priv to that phone, it's a rolls royce compared to a AMC gremlin. I routinely get 12 to 1 4 hours out of my battery. I'm anxious to see what marshmallow does to improve it
