    Hi All:
Purchased my PRIV a month ago. Love the phone.

Phone arrived with Feb 16 security update - date of build.

Have not received March or April update.

Checked settings on phone. Received message that updates are up to date.

    Others encountering same issue?

    Thanks.

Priv just started being sold. Will take a while before they get the updates

Michael Clewley told me that Verizon would be pushing out the April update, but he didn't give a timeframe.

While I still want the monthly updates, the fact is that at least in the big vulnerability fixed in the April update, you pretty much have to want to get hit with it.

AT&T and VZW are infamous for releasing updates late, sometimes months late.
Thats prob the biggest reason more and more people are buying direct and not getting carrier devices.

Actually, AT&T has been pretty decent about updates for the Priv - at least better than expected. Only a week later than everyone else, and missing only one of the months, but they did release the next month's update.

It's the BB10 phones that AT&T has astoundingly bad support for.

    Thanks.

Would be preferable if security updates could bypass the Carriers.

If I wasn't a Verizon customer, with a need for a CDMA firm, would have purchased the phone directly from BBRY in Nov or December.

Exactly. I switched to Verizon from AT&T due to signal strength. I would much rather have purchased the phone outright from BlackBerry with updates directly from them.

It's the one thing I'm jealous of from iOS.

Blackberry has said they can bypass the carriers for critical vulnerabilities, but they never said what they consider critical.

I'll go with better than expected.
I actually got a Priv from AT&T a day or 2 after release, due to an out of town trip, I didn't want to activate right then. So they gave me a phone and a SIM. When I got ready to activate, the SIM wouldn't even fit in the device, wrong size. They sent a new one, but after a couple of days of no LTE, I contacted them and discovered the 2nd one wasn't set up for LTE. During that time I kept remembering all the issues I'd had with updates on my Z10.
AT&T got that Priv back, and I ordered one from shop BB.
No more carrier devices for me.
