Trying to get a USB to go to work by directly plugging it into the charging port.

It appears I need to ROOT the device?

What is ROOT and how to I get this done to the PRIV? I'm looking for an app but I don't think it's app related.

Can someone point me to the right direction?

    Thanks

To root the PRIV you need very high attitude. Orbit would be good, where that invisible teapot resides.

    Who told you that?

Root is not yet possible for the Priv to be rooted, ROOT is basically a deliberate breaking of the security that stops the user (and apps) performing back end system alterations.

If you're familiar with the Apple world its the same as "JailBreak"

what do you mean by "Trying to get a USB to go to work by directly plugging it into the charging port."

What USB function are you trying to perform?

Technically, you don't need to root the Priv to get OTG, it DOES support it.

But since it came with no software to actually use it, you'll have to get some from the playstore

Here's the kicker. I've never gotten it to actually work.

I don't know if it's broken, I've plugged in a mouse and that's fine, but it just doesn't ready my sub stick.
