This Device Health Application is showing significant battery use and I don't recall ever seeing it before. It appeared sometime yesterday and I don't see it listed in my apps.

Does anyone know what this is and can it be disabled?

In the 2ND screen shot it shows the app Device Health Application but it's using significant battery as you can see.

As I said I don't see this app listed. What is it and can it be disabled?

    Try removing it.

I suspect you loaded that somehow (by accident perhaps) I don't see it on my Priv listed as being present....

I would remove or disable if I could but I am unable to. The app isn't listed...that's why I'm asking what it is and how I can shut it down. I have no clue where it came from.

It's an AT&T device. My sales rep with AT&T had this show up on her Priv too.

Oh that sounds like Carrier IQ or similar..... Yuck. That would also explain why I haven't seen it even though I'm on straight talk using at&t towers.... But with an amazon sourced Priv.

Does it show up if you got to settings>apps>all installed?

If it does, try to force stop then disable it from there.

Although likely at this point, I'd maybe contact the Priv team at BlackBerry (some frequent the CB forums now) and/or reach out to AT&T for official confirmation before jumping down that rabbit hole. Or, enlist the help of Bla1ze and Co. to see if they can get some answers quickly.

I know a number of us on AT&T had this app show up and couldn't find a way to disable or delete it but I haven't had it appear for a while.

Anyone else not seeing it recently? No clue why it's not but I'm not unhappy about it...😁

Device Health Application runs in the background as part of the ATT ProTech protection plan. If you signed up for ATT ProTech, you should be getting a weekly email with the title "Weekly Mobile Health Check". It's not an APP that you can delete, unless you discontinue the ATT ProTech service. It's harmless, and doesn't use that much battery life, usually only 3% weekly, while it checks your phone.

I use Solid Explorer as a file manager. From there I found it, but There is no way to delete, disable, or alter it.

By the looks of Bob's screenshot he's way beyond the 3% weekly usage.

When I checked my battery usage on the day the Device Health Application appeared, I had several more applications in use. It may use the same amount of battery power as on Bob's phone, but might be a higher percentage of the total power, if you have fewer applications running. Either way, if it's causing problems, discontinue the ATT ProTech plan. Additionally, you'll save the monthly charge from AT&T.
