    Guesstimate Dimensions:
    Venice - ~150.5mm x ~73.5mm (5.93in x 2.89in)
    Z30 - 140.7mm x 72mm (5.54in x 2.83in)
    Z10 - 130mm x 65.6mm (5.12in x 2.58in)
    Q10 - 119.6mm x 66.8mm (4.71in x 2.63in)

I just mocked it up in photoshop. Seems to be coming in at about 73.5mm/2.89in wide or so.

    For Reference (width):
    Venice - ~73.5mm (2.89in)
    Z30 - 72mm (2.83in)
    Z10 - 65.6mm (2.58in)
    Q10 - 66.8mm (2.63in)

So just a tiny bit wider than the Z30 it appears. I actually feel a bit better about it's width now because the Z30 is the perfect width IMHO.

Eh, here's a totally rough estimate of the height too (this is more rough estimate than the above width because the 3.5mm jack wasn't taken from same pic or angle.

    For Reference (height):
    Venice - ~150.5mm (5.93in)
    Z30 - 140.7mm (5.54in)
    Z10 - 130mm (5.12in)
    Q10 - 119.6mm (4.71in)

All other Venice images can be found here cyberbyt.es/bbpriv

Excellent! I thought that curved screen might make it narrow for a 5.4 incher. The curved back and front should make it pretty comfortable to reach around with your thumb too.

    Thanks for doing the estimate!

That's pretty close to what I got (originally 73, then 75 mm wide) based on comparing scaled renders of the Venice and other phones.

So, Alex, does this mean that Brandon didn't buy that Venice offered for sale in Toronto and just measure it for you?

Not bad, good to see some similar numbers.. Really doesn't seem *that* big then, pretty much similar dimensions to the Z30. And yeah.. Unfortunately BerryFlow does not have the kinda resources to illegally buy a device for $1,000.. haha - We did each agree to pitch in like $100 to offer the guy to just take some photos/video of it though.. Not sure what ever happened with that though, I'm pretty certain the guy never accepted that offer seeing as Brandon never requested the money from us lmao

Hopefully we'll hear Brandon's version tomorrow. Venice is a bit wider and about half an inch longer than the Z30, but a bit narrower and about a quarter inch shorter than the iPhone 6 Plus.
Here's the Venice again with the Z30 and the Q10 for comparison.

Hi great method, what about the thickness, also off topic maybe but is the screen like the Galaxy s6 edge?

The Venice screen is very similar to the S6 Edge, except slightly larger, 5.4 vs 5.1 inches.

I messed around with it a bit, looks to be sitting around 8.5 - 9mm or so. Appears to be a tad bit thinner than the Z30. Realistically, this thing is like identical to the Z30, it's just a bit taller and a tiny tiny tiny bit wider and actually thinner.

If this picture is to scale, then the slider is VERY tall. I have a Leap and that is a little taller than I would prefer but I am living with it. Once that slider is opened, it's going to look funny in my opinion because it's going to look enormous.

Yes, the images are all to the same scale based on scaled images from the Phone Arena, except for the Slider which I scaled based on the 5.4 inch screen spec for the slider as compared to the very similar 5.1 inch screen on the S6 Edge. A couple other people including Alex have come up with very similar widths for the slider. The Slider is about a third of an inch taller than the Leap.

My opinion is that the Z10 was a pretty great size for portability. The Z30 made for a more comfortable typing / productivity perspective.

A Slider design, really SHOULD enable a combination of the two: comfortable while still more compact. If the Slider is bigger than the Z30, and it seems to be, I'm not sure I completely agree with this decision. However, I understand there are many users that they are aiming for with this and some people might think that they've nailed it.

I might hold out for now though... Perhaps, if it's successful, they will launch a Slider mini and I think I'd go for that.

I mean we are talking 1.5mm or .06in wider than the Z30.. That's so negligible IMHO. As for the height, it'll be a bit taller but not too bad. I have been using the Z30 for nearly 2 years now and when I first moved to it from the Z10, it felt HUGE. Took about a week or so before I felt totally comfortable with it. Now I go back to my Z10 and it feels way too small. I think the Z30 is literally the perfect size for a device. If the slider keeps close to the Z30 dimensions (as it appears to be from the estimates), I think it'll be perfectly sized. So long as you are currently a Z30 user, I don't think the slider will feel big at all, it'll feel pretty damn similar. Look at the device market though, even Apple is moving towards larger devices. The average size device on the market right now is a 5-6" screen.. The slider is right in the middle of that. I really wouldn't bank on BlackBerry coming out with a Slider Mini TBH. Apple was the one company still holding back on keeping small devices.. Even they realized that market is dying and nearly gone now and came out with the "PLUS" variant which has sold incredibly well. Every single manufacturer is going larger, not smaller. I think BlackBerry will find the sweet spot with the Slider and stick with it as it isn't swaying too far away from their current largest devices (Z30 & Leap).

Remember when the Z10 came out, the screen size was right in the mid point. apple was 3.5, Z10 4.2, and Androids were just over 5
