In my Notifications, I've got the one above. When I tap to open it I a am swept to a Screen that is Titled APNs. The upper right menu's only choice is "Reset to default." There is text that says "Verizon Internet/VZWINTERNET" and a filled in "circle on the right"

If I tap that text line, I get to "Edit access point" screen and the only thing NOT grayed out is

APN
VZWINTERNET

That can be tapped on but I have no idea.

Try going in through settings = More = Celluar networks = access point names and see if that gives you any other options.
And remove and reinstall SIM

I ain't going near the Sim slot!

I recall when I went to France last summer and signed onto Verizon's Global plan for three weeks it included free wifi hotspots. But it did not work since my then Z30 could not use the mapping aspect of the Android Verizon wifi app so I could not locate such hot spots. Wonder if it has anything to do with that?

Then, of course, I could call Verizon!
