I am ignorant when it comes to this.

Given that I've heard of pictures/videos of a BlackBerry Passport SE running Android, could it be possible to get it when it comes out, and tinker with it to have it run BB10, even if it completely voids warranties?

I just realized I wrote my question wrong. I meant to buy a Priv, and somehow put BB10 on it without having to wait for the rumors of a possible BB10 version.

Not until Qualcomm makes the drivers that allow BB10 to work on the Snapdragon 808.

That's supposedly the sticking point Chen mentioned in the investor Q&A during the earnings call a couple weeks ago. Apparently, Qualcomm wants a ton of money, and BlackBerry can't afford it right now.

The Passport has the highest model Snapdragon in a BlackBerry to date, but that was developed a while back when BlackBerry could afford it.

You may notice that all other BB10 devices use a variant of the Snapdragon S4. The Z30 is a bump up and the Z3 is a bump back.

Whether all that "driver too expensive" talk is really true or not, I'm not so sure, but it is the company line, and they are moving on as if it were true.

The Priv uses a different processor than the Passport does (and very different from every other BB10 device), so, either way, you will not get a BB10 OS on a Priv.
