    Has anyone figured out how to activate and assign a color for incoming text messages?

    Go to Setting>>Sound & Notifications>>App Notifications

    Select the application in question and it will take you to another menus where you can set the led indicator.

    Keep in mind that will vary pending on what app you're using for text messages but most should offer the option to change it.
