I got a system notification update when I got off the train. I'm currently downloading a 127.1 mb update. Anything of note I'm getting when this is done?

There's an AAG153 loader floating around for AT&T. Not sure if it made to OTA yet though,

I had an issue with my original t-mobile phone and had BB do a warranty exchange and they sent me an unlocked device but I didn't get this update until today when I refreshed the update search. I had done it about 3 days ago but there was none.

I wonder if even though it is an unlocked phone I am still he!! bent on waiting for t-mo to release it to me.

Maybe its your tmobile sim card!

Take the sim out and let it hook up to wifi and see if you get your updates

I'd rather wait for the OTA. I don't want to keep setting my phone up every month just for a monthly update via an autoloader

I have not been installing these security patches, does it matter? I use vpn when paying bills or online banking, does that help?

I have another question as well, does every update over write the previous update, or do the files stay and add up?

If you have not taken previous updates the previous ones will be sent down with the new ones; the system knows what has to be updated to bring you current.

As for "why", taking over your device can not only steal your information it could conceivably be used to make things occur that get blamed on you, or run your bill up. One would be very annoying and might lead you to have your service shut off or you to be investigated, the other could cost you quite a bit of money.

Nope; they patch the OS so the impact on space is small to zero.

As far as I know, very few OEMs other than BlackBerry are as fast to patch as Google themselves for Nexus devices (BlackBerry has even outpaced Google sometimes). Plus, T-Mobile has been especially good for an American carrier for the last few Marshmallow monthly patches, so consider yourself lucky.

I got the same this this morning about 10:30

    Downloaded and installed.

Will see how it looks after a few days of heavy use, plus I am going out of town so it will be tested for sure.
