I tested out a new Priv at an AT&T store the other day...I thought typing agility/facility was significantly impaired by the raised speaker at the bottom of the keyboard/device.

Anyone else feel this way? Sort of defeats the purpose if you can't type fluidly. How does this compare to the Passport typing experience?

You need something below the keyboard for balance and grip, making it a speaker just makes it also useful, now the amount of protrusion is a factor many like or dislike.

Imo the torch it was too much, but the priv in the amount I have used is nice.

Absolutely agreed! That was my only problem on the original version of the passport.

No issues with the speaker when using the physical keyboard.

Doesn't bother me. I actually prefer it being there. The raised surface reduces my risk of dropping it.

I like it. It's got enough of a ledge and doesn't interfere for me. I like the ledge/speaker grid better than my Passport ... and I LOVE my Passport!

BB10 has no raised bottom bar and typing is easy/fine...

I can't tell with the black ATT Passport whether typing would be easier or more difficult than the Priv.
