Odd that they wouldn't have a separate event for such a major device.

[S]Besides[/] Before apple, no one else [S]has[/] had a really big separate event for their product releases. It's just a lot of work and money to plan a whole event and to invite everyone. They tried that with the first BB10 and look how that went.

I thought they had a small exclusive event for the Passport launch.

They had a event for the Passport and Classic at a restaurant if I remember correctly.

I think they will wait until the IPhone event is over to keep from being drowned out by the iPhone hype. So maybe late September / early October.

I remember with Passport I was shocked it was announced and available for purchase the same day. Wasn't planning to buy a phone that day, drove down to the Telus store an hour later and I had one.

They don't seem to be listed on the exhibitor list, and that is around the apple event, I doubt they would make an announcement at the same time as apple. They would wait at least two weeks after apple's announcement.

If it was on the 9th, which is on Tuesday, the press would have already let us know they got invitations to a BB event.

Actually that would be Wednesday, the exact same day of the Apple event. Hoping for something by the 25 of this month!

...and they had a clumsy presenter back then (TH).

JC is not much better in that regard. He tries to be funny, and sometimes he is, sometimes he isn't.

I don't get it that there is not at least one thing that these companies learned from Apple and Jobs:

new product announcements need a first class presentation and a first class presenter.

Nobody expects an event of Apple dimensions and bombast, and not everybody has a 2nd Steve Jobs at hand, but what I have seen so far, since BB10 got introduced, was rather pitiful, and didn't create any excitement.

Yeah, I does look that way but until BlackBerry announces the device with the name, I'm sticking to Venice as its the most official

Seriously, so Avenger is a possible name? Think they will have an event at the end of September.

Wasn't there a thread about IFA reveal? Now it is CTIA?! I got the feeling from the Churchill Club interview that their are some unresolved issues to releasing the slider, seemed like with Google, before it can be launched. I have faith that no matter when and how it is launched, that BlackBerry will botch it.
