Let's see, my Passport was $699, sold online for $599. A few months later, my son bought one for $499. So how about if you price it at $699, but offer a BlackBerry loyalty discount of$200 for current owners and a $200 rebate for iPhone, Android or WP owner to make the switch. In other words, $499 unlocked.

Whens the last time BlackBerry has a customer loyalty trade-in program? I think it would be too expensive because BlackBerry-loyal customers are pretty much the only ones buying BlackBerries nowadays. BlackBerry seems to have given up on capturing new customers and is barely fighting to keep the ones it has, so I wouldnt hold my breath waiting for Chen to give the loyalists anything. Prices on BlackBerry products will come down when inventory is distressed and those incentives will be offered to anyone who will take them.

Sliders are complex and therefore expensive to manufacture. And the Samsung curved screen is no doubt a pricey inclusion as well.

If it has modern specs, then the BlackBerry slider should rightly be the most expensive mainstream phone on the market. Right?

The Passport started out costing 600 US dollars. I wouldn't be surprised if the slider cost more just because of the combination of the curved screen, sliding mechanism, and the physical keyboard.

If it costs more than the Samsung curved S6 then it's dead
