I know, but the purpose is to have the best physical keyboard phone ever with strong specs. Priv is the best for that. I just don't like to know google, they keep a list of everything you do and visit, etc...when I log into a work computer on google and I see all the stores I have visited last week, kinda defeits the purpose of PRIVacy, no ?

    Am I being parano?

I disabled like 15-20 google process /apps. My phone is blazing fast find.

I think so, but you are more than entitled to be.

I'm the opposite. I'm exploring how Google integration can assist me in my daily life. Haven't found anything intrusive so far.

    I second Osmand.

I also suggest Simple Gallery for pictures. It is a small app similar to the BB10 native pictures app.

TRUE: The PRIV is just an example of a BlackBerry / Google partnership in phones can't escape google with it. You want to avoid it go to Windows 10 or BlackBerry 10

For maps I'd use Here Drive (or Here Maps). Good luck!

While I don't completely understand the Google fear, it seems that you're willing to deal with entities that could be far more dangerous or nefarious about your privacy. I'll take dealing with a known entity versus the unknown one every time.

Here maps, Bing app, one drive. If you don't mind Microsoft, they have an app that roughly matches every Google offering.

I'd highly recommend Naked Browser (paid version) Naked Browser pro.

So after you removed everything Google on your Android phone, you are basically left with a BB keyboard phone.

There is a name for phones like that. You did not have to go through all that trouble.

I think they are called Passport or something weird. An oddly shaped phone.

I find it somewhat amusing the paranoia... I don't care a whit about Google being secure in the knowledge:

    1) Google has no reason to single me out due to my complete insignificance on this earth,

    2) anything so private as to be unthinkable to reveal never will be on my phone.

    Security, done...

Microsoft is much worse than Google so I wouldn't suggest a windows phone or microsoft apps.

Android will operate fine without Google.
For replacement apps https://f-droid.org/ for an app store

    I use AndrOpenOffice and OpenDocumentViewer.
I use Owncloud in place of Google Drive and calendar/contacts sync.

So how do you REMOVE a google app? Example: the Android Pay app on my phone just has a "disable" option, no "uninstall" option. Is there a special process to remove some of these apps that just offer disabling?

Those are system apps and aren't removable by the end user w/o root. BB Android does not allow root access to device due to security concerns.

So when someone on here says "remove," I guess they are just disabling it? That's what I thought, I just wasn't sure if I missed something somewhere. Thanks!

Perhaps because someone/something else keeps track of everything they do.
